I have been successful with discard but you have to make sure you do not attach any cards since that causes the beetle to reshuffle it's discard pile back into its deck.
I have had more success with eclipse (thee eclipse ladies)
Include time to die and 3 burning soul. Include assassinations and the eclipse dagger. I play that combo when I do not have initiative because the beetle will play obesity as second card once in a while which sucks to have your burning soul cancelled after time to die. I include other cards (Solaris, nomad card that reduces opponents attack, etc) but pitch those to get to burning soul and other kill cards.
Beat it with Portal deck on first try, no favors.
1st battle: turn him into demon
2nd battle: swap attacks
3rd battle: Break second chain to swap attacks
4th battle and so on: Swap attacks
Just kept pitching everything else.
Plus what decks have people used to beat the guardian besides IHAS?
Though my dagger deck is nowhere near finished, I find dexterity game does a LOT of work.
With the marauder version I love using Telendar purely for his chain ability makes the deck flow so well.
I actually have to apologize. Earlier in this thread I stared it was an event you could complete for free. Though technically true, is not reality.
To obtain cheapest witch you have to complete 10 missions, which is 2 missions a day for the 5 days given. In the very least, that is around 20 games a day just for missions, if you find the right opponents. To get all three cards, you are looking at 31 missions, or at least 6 missions a day.
If you wanted to just buy the fees for all cards you are looking at close to 6200 feez which comes out to $95.
Not bitching about cost/grind per se, just amending my previous statement.
I am not sure yet that Spooker replaces anyone in current lineup permanently. I think he is a great option that allows you to actually do all Marauder Pack if you wanted.
I don't see not using Wild. Brutus has proven he can carry the weight similar to how Faceless did a couple years ago. I am looking forward to trying the marauder lineup now though. I think the two main options will be:
Wild/Fenrath/Brutus
Wild/Spooker/Bloodsword
I think Faceless is just overshadowed by other options now, and I am not sure yet how Dark fits in.
Wow...this is an improvement over previous Halloween events where the only way to get masks was to buy boosters. Now they give you one of each mask for free and are giving new cards along with an older promo card that newer players want, and still the complaining ensues. If you grind you can get it all for free. If you want to save time you can spend money. This again better than some previous events where there was no possible way to get all cards without spending cash.
Some crystal storms?
Does the requirement of damaging three times have to occur all in one fight, or can be spread out over multiple fights?
Out of those trackers are the cheapest. Crows may be second but their claws are pricey.
When you play Dementia, it turns all players into Shadow Guemelites, which boosts damage to and further Dementia or Never Lonely cards, since both are boosted by the number of Shadow Guems in play.
Many like Gust since the Shadow Mages get their Spirits buffed so much.
Not a big fan of Shadow Agony myself. Plus I like the card that will fish a TttSS from your deck (just one), and the other card that prevents your stats from being adjusted, and if your spirit is greater than 4, you get to discard a card in play...
I had a question about multi race decks. I just picked up pilferess but don't have the legendary.
So was thinking of
Pilferess (beast)
Ydiane (elfine/nature guemelite)
Rargnar (homchai)
I have one quick draw and get a second one from starter. Worthwhile? I do have 3 butterfly collars and 2 feign death.
What are other staple cards for the deck type nowadays? Haven't played this kind of deck since the brother in arms nerf.
But the card you win with the three banners is the one that will see play. I've had both cards since last year and after the first few days of trying it out, never used the second card ever again (the one you get for using all banners).
This is what I'm trying to run as an offensive craftsman deck:
[card]Clover[/card]
[card]Balastar[/card]
[card]Meister Galene[/card]
These are what my goals are for damage output:
[card]Port[/card]
[card]Pirate Grenade[/card]
[card]Infected Serum[/card]
[card]Illegal Traffic[/card]
These cards are there to boost damage done:
[card]Evil Jorusien[/card]
[card]Size 50 Monkey Wrench[/card]
Chains:
[card]Repulsion Belt[/card]
[card]Mechanic Bracelets[/card]
[card]Chain Labor[/card]
Obviously that's a lot of cards, not sure how many to include of each at this point. Also, looking at these as potential add ons...
[card]Master Craftsman[/card]
[card]Technological Advance[/card]
[card]Smash That Iron![/card]
[card]Multitasking[/card]
[card]Galenof Cocktail[/card]
Thoughts on how best to organize? Still tooling around with numbers myself...
I was thinking of one of these decks using the syringes that cause damage with ports and other damage items while equipping wrenches and using illegal goods to cause even more direct damage. Only have half the cards though
One thing I have been waiting for is a way to play this game on my iPhone, since my work blocks Eredan. I could get games in during breaks and lunch, or when waiting at doctors office, etc.
iPhone doesn't like adobe flash player... So can't play through my browser. : (
Agreed way off topic, but it is pretty funny that as soon as someone wins a major event for even a miniatures game, people ask for army lists of the top finishers...all same thing.
In the end though, trying to stay on topic, is there a cheaper deck than Trackers that can at least be competitive in level room?
(P.S. I love Warmachine)
But that is also one of the reasons this community will normally not answer general questions about top tier decks. A person has to post a deck list usually to get feedback.
Having worked at a local game store for over a decade, the sad fact for almost every popular CCG or even miniature games is "net decking". There are websites dedicated to it. But that's also why I enjoy the decks that take more thought to play. Netdeck it all you want but if you don't learn the deck you will still fail.
This deck should work fairly quickly. Supplying and scroll may be enough chain, but mechanic hornet not only allows you to chain anything if you have powder it increases your damage output by 2 every time you do damage. This makes your crickets do 5 damage and the pocket shooters do more, along with your melee attacks.
They have run restricted tournies in the past that negated many power cards. More of those may go a long way to appease pure FTP players.
And feerik loose another player... Until when will we see it? Does feerik will do something to change this situation? I still got hope of this game became free... I mean really free...
First off, this isn't directed solely at you, but your comment brings up a point that keeps recurring here for at least the 2 years or so I have been playing:
Free to play does not mean everything is free. Feerik is a business, and whether or not they are doing it for the love of the game or for money, it should not be outrageous to consider that they want to get paid for their efforts. This game is pretty well supported with weekly trophies, tournaments, and card releases/adventure mode updates.
Bottom line is, you can play this game for free all you want. But do not believe that you will be competitive in ELO anytime soon.
You will get what you put in. Same as with any other CCG.
At first I was going to troll and say something like Sap Heart Marauders are the best, but figured the effort would be wasted. I still think Trackers are one of the best cheap decks that migrate up a little in power as you garner more crystals to buy better cards.
I started a similar deck this week...pretty fun to use...this is what I came up with so far:
[card]S.A.R.A.H.[/card]
[card]Flammara[/card]
[card]Captain Al Killicrew[/card]
3x [card]Facing the Demon[/card]
1x [card]Flames of the Phoenix[/card] lvl 2
1x [card]Heroism[/card]
3x [card]Lost Scroll from Kan-del[/card]
2x [card]Mechanic Hornet[/card]
2x [card]P.L.O.P[/card]
2x [card]Sham Powder[/card]
3x [card]Supplying[/card]
3x [card]The Pirate Code[/card]
Deck is no way final at this point, but you can really lay on the damage. Lost Scroll is so much better than Potato Peeling Duty. The Mechanic Hornet not only boosts damage of the PLOP and Melee and Fires of the Phoenix, but allows your characters to chain with anything. Heroism is really there as a filler for now...3rd Mechanic Hornet will replace it. Not sure about 3 Pirate codes either just yet.
Sigh I still have to get past golems... I've beat the tracker and oozes. Plus no gold medal...so comp vs earth elemental? Any other options?
I like how every guild has at least 2 decks that can win over 70% of the time. People make a big deal about the legendaries, but there hasn't been one I've felt like I could never beat. Ourenos came close, but that's about it.
And that's why I love this game and can't bring myself to focus on just one faction...
And also why I have only one deck that could be tourney worthy and about 20 others in various stages.
