Has anyone tested the althing against cards like [card]unfortunate encounter[/card] or [card]wild buds[/card]?  At least last I checked those happened after the opponents got healed so depending on the situation there might actually be a way to take all of your opponents cards out at once.  I would also suggest [card]corruption of the soul[/card] and [card]scorpio blow[/card], but the Althing would probably discard those cards.

last time I check with this type of tournament your whole deck, characters included is swapped with your opponent, so you need to know how to win with your deck and against your deck.

Thanks for the translation, though I must admit I'm barely waking and I already seeing a translation.  It puts me in shock.

I've seen Eclipse and Trackers finish opponents off by turn 3 a lot more then I have ever seen crystal storm finish off opponents off by turn 3.  Hell, I haven't even personally experienced Stone Linkers finishing off opponents by turn 3.

I dont know if it's like withcblades, but all I see is the predictable: Cards to increase max health, heal and remove opponent' cards, as always.

I only said that because cards like [card]In the hand of the gods[/card] and [card]curse of the king-priest[/card] cause played cards to be ignored which have in the past been mainly witchblades and the packs schtick and i just realized the second card I mentioned can't be fully utilized by immortals.

#6 Re : Deck and Strategy » Compendium deck thinning » 30-01-2013 17:08:31

I personally think you have to big of a chance of pulling the wrong Noz spell with Tanaer especially with the high amount Noz spells in your deck.  Depending on your hand you could end up pulling the lightning bolts or luminosity when you were aiming for the crystal storm or breaker.  You don't get to pick which Noz spell is played by Tanaer's ability.

#8 Re : Discussions about Eredan iTCG » Yep totally right about the new action guemlite card being op » 27-01-2013 16:57:18

The sad thing is they can't even use the excuse of "we forgot about that card", since it was only released this act and should have been in the group of cards that should have been used to play test the new cards with.  Though this combo would be a lot less dangerous if [card]Illumination[/card] didn't exist and couldn't pull the card from anywhere in the deck and [card]Air Stone-heart[/card] didn't lower spirit.  You could literally build a deck around this idea having already 12 cards just need 8 card filler.  For the other 8 cards you could use [card]Water Stone-heart[/card], [card]Water cycle[/card], [card]Globetrotter[/card], [card]Skyward Boots[/card] or [card]Road map[/card], and [card]The guild's cape[/card], because if the name of the game is your enemy having 0 spirit then you want to pal around with [card]Fog Hydra[/card].

Nomads can also be associated w/ Egyptian lore/mythology since some of their characters are derived from the Egyptian gods. Though the weird part is the Stone Linkers battle soundtrack reminds me more of an Arabian (belly dancing) music than anything else.

Also I like to add:
Kotoba - combination of Chinese and Japanese cultures
Sap - nature-lover / forest-dweller theme
Pirates - industrialized Western / steampunk style
Nehant - underworld theme

Well, that would explain why we have an aladdinish character like Hakim and a Genie like Shrikan in the Nomads and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Egypt pops up in the Arabian nights once or twice.

Stone-Linkers are Stone-Linkers.
I was just making a remark on something that resembles them:
- 4 Elements
- Esquimo style

No, you didn't but I was hoping you would at least give more evidence then just the four elements, which obvious and overused and makes you look ignorant at least to me, personally.  As it is Inuits aren't the only ones who wear fur fringed clothing, though those are usually in the form of parkas, while Russians and other cultures I mentioned wore fur lined clothing in more stylized fashion.  I would suggest you watch movies like Mulan and Anastasia just for examples.

Oh, don't give me that bull, each of the four tribes in the Avatar/The Legend of Korra has their own distinct stylizing based on real earth cultures.  And besides the northern and southern tribes in Avatar/The Legend of Korra have more of an Eskimo/Inuit look then the Stone Linkers do.  Not to mention Lazar Zackarov has a name closely resemble some famous Russian names like the Romanov's.  Not to mention I'm not really seeing the resemblance of Catalyna and Avatar Korra AND I watched all of the episodes of the latter.

Well, no, but Lazar Zackarov and Catalyna have Russian stylized clothing, well, I might a couple centuries off for when that type of clothing was in style in Russia, but still and after taking another look more Russia/Mongolia, and maybe some of China mountian/cold region style a couple centuries ago.

#19 Re : Discussions about Eredan iTCG » January 10th: The Door to the gods! » 11-01-2013 01:32:45

“Earth to the Admiral, Land Ahoy.”  Lil Laddie who was at lookout said.
Al pulled something out of her leather case to have a better look at the “Earth”.

The small floating island wasn’t very crowded, but this didn’t stop the government of the White Islands and the Republic of Tantad from fighting over it.

Bramamir, the White Island nations, had appropriated much of the land that used to be Tantad, which caused Bramimir and the Republic of Tantad to in a cold war.  Sometime in the near past, Tantad caused a blockade on the trading routes, so that Bramimir would run out of supplies.

More recently, the Runic Legion, who belonged to the Republic of Tantad, had led a successful raid to recapture the Temple of the Goddess.  So to say the least, the Pirates of Bramimir and the Runic Legion weren’t exactly making getting along with each other on Al’s ship easy.  The Centorium Aurius, was well treated for his rank, but he still regreted the Pirates behaviour.  However, without the presence of Al and Aurius there would have been even more fighting between the two guilds.

Admiral Al wanted to battle the Runics herself, but for her responsibilities to her nation had caused her to order her crew to wait until after the mission was over before getting into any conflicts.  She wanted to hear the whole story of the door before deciding the most profitable course of action.

The Arcadia dock on an outcropping rock and the two guilds marched to the entrance of the Temple of the Goddess.

“This is a sacred place Admiral, your pirates cannot enter”

“Can I?” She asked innocently.

“Please enter,” Aurius found himself obliged to agree, so as not to increase the visible animosity.

“If it does not bother you, I have with me a person who knows a lot about the legends, you have nothing against that fact if she comes with me, huh?”

“Uh… do so.”

“Wata', you can come darling, I'm going to need your talents.”

The Wata in question was Watahata of course and the story describes her as currently dressed as her lvl 3 mage evolution.  The two women followed the Runic Legion into the temple noticing that the furniture in there was brand new even though it had been 100 years.

They also met Lania who was posted there ever since the Runics had come back from their last adventure.  She greeted them peacefully and told them to leave their fury at the door because they were in a place of peace and harmony.
Aurius told Lania that he sought information about the door of the Gods only for her to tell him that they were still in the process of restoring the place and only four or five people would be able to fit in the room.  Aurius chose Sapient, Oracle of Orpiance and Sanquinam the Kertasien out of his troops to go.

Meanwhile, Al and Watahata cased the temple admiring a head of gold and some fruit that according to Wata was superb.

“They have other resources that we have not, because they screwed us over with that blockade, we will really have to settle this once and for all.  Listen Wata', if you find any useful information, and you understand what I mean by useful, say nothing to the Runics and wait for a good time to talk to me.” Al told Wata.

“Ok, chief I hadn’t planned on telling them anything.  They are strange people with their runes.”

Lania started to motion to the pirates to start moving and told the four of them, Al, Wata, Sapient, and Sanquinam, to put their weapons into a trunk.  They did so the Runics a little more willing than the pirates, before Lania led the group to a room in the basement, which had 2 people in it busy restoring the place.

Lania showed them the runes and tells them that it tells a story of how one man, Osydemak, saved hundreds of people’s lives at the risk when the Maelstorm first appeared and the floating islands threatened to crash into the ground.  During that time he found the Doorway to the Gods.  After his mission to rescue people he went to investigate, but was never heard of again.

The group looked for any clues where the doorway could be found, but the two Runics couldn’t find anything.  On the other hand Wata was able to start seeing patterns in the text and started to figure out what they really meant, while pretending to have not seen anything.  Soon enough the two Runics gave up and start suggesting they search other places in the temple for more clues.

The Runics and the Pirates returned to the Arcadia, where the Pirates naturally mocked the Runics for failing to solve their mystery.  Meanwhile, Watahata looked through a telescope to confirm that she had found what she thought she had before going to talk to Al.  Finally, with a bargaining chip in her hand Al went to Aurius and asked to talk to him.

“Yes, Admiral?”

“Well, I think it is time for us to come up with an agreement on the Tantad blockade of the White Islands.  The government of today is not that of the past and we can achieve something out. If we make you a gesture, will you be ready to do the same for us?

“Well, I cannot speak on behalf of the Cenacle, Admiral, but the discussion is open, especially if you made a gesture.  But, what gesture?

“You are interested the Door of the Gods, are you not?  I offer you it and its region.

Aurius frowned, “What do you mean by that?”

“We are the masters of air travel; we have a method to find the door.”

“If this is the case it will be in your favor, not to mention the return of the region.”

“A deal” then Al said as she nodded to Watahata.

The young woman ran up to Bragan at the helm.  To whom Watahata gave certain directions to.  An hour’s journey they had reached the cloud with the door.

Will Admiral Al be able to secure supplies for her people before her people starve to death?
Will Lania tell Sapient and Sanquinam that the Arcadia left without them?
and Will the pirates ever get that rematch they have been begging for now since the battle of the guilds have stopped?

My only question is if Keizan is still alive and is the World Tree, why isn't he the legendary for the Sap Hearts instead of Ourenos?  I mean Keizan is basically the god of the Sap Hearts and yet Ourenos is the one with legendary status.

#24 Re : Discussions about Eredan iTCG » January 3rd: Incursion! » 04-01-2013 00:03:39

Today, we start the story with Fe’y, Ciramor, Mellisandre, Keep-the-Totems, and Catalyna being transported through the stone linker tunnels as if the stone linker tunnels were a slide.  Catalyna laughed, well more of a grin or a smirk then a laugh, at Ciramor when he landed not so gracefully on the other side.

Ciramor got annoyed at Catalyna for smirking/grinning/laughing and Catalyna apologised.   Ciramor asked if the stone linkers copied the demon portals to make their stone linker tunnels.  However, instead of answering Ciramor, Catalyna just puts her hand on his and told him that she liked him then changed the subject to them being almost to the door.

Fey, Mellisandre, and Keep-the-Totems made fun of the traveling through the stone linker tunnels as they set out for the doors which was still a half a day’s journey.  Eikytan had ordered a camp to be built around the door, with a large fence of tangled roots and a contingent of Dais, Elfines, and Hom’chai guarding the door.  This small army happily welcomed the travelers curious to see the magic of the Stone Linkers, while also happy to see the Guardian of the World Tree, Fe’y, had arrived safely.  The World Tree, Keizan, was also there talking to the Guardian of the Forest, Ourenos.

“The meeting of guilds was very informative, father.”  Fe’y said as he introduced Catalyna and Ciramor to Keizan.

Ciramor bowed to Keizan and said, “The rumors are true about your powers Keizan.  I am delighted to talk to you face to face.”

Catalyna stated that the other stone linkers would be jealous that she not only got to meet Ourenos, but the World Tree, itself.

Keizan revealed a magical artifact, which I think is actually refering to the door itself now since I'm done translating everything, to the group and stated that the artifact could help them find what is on the other side of the door, but unfortunately its secret are guarded by the elemental forces, which is why they asked for the stone linkers help.  ((Apparently, the forces of nature can’t do much with the forces of the elements.  Then again if this was Pokemon, nature guems would be grass pokemon, while stonelinkers have fire, flying, water, and ground on their side.))

Catalyna walked to the door and pulled out four stones.  She threw the stones into the air and started to work her magic on them remaining motionless for over an hour.  She returned and explained to the group that the earth is holding door to the world, partily blocking air, and keeping the door closed.    Fire protected the door and would kill anyone that tried to open it without breaking the elements, while water held all the elements together.

Ciramor asked if there was anything else that caused Keizan to have summoned him there as well and Catalyna revealed she also felt the magic of guem.  Keizan reveals that the magic of Guem is the most brutal and complex to control.  It is decided that Ciramor will keep guem balanced while Catalyna manipulated the elements of the door so there isn’t an explosion.

They then mention that the Elfines would be going in with some Hom’chai shaman invisibility spells to keep them hidden.

Ciramor expressed his doubt about Keizan’s plan, but Keizan reassured him that he trusted his army.

It took all night for everyone to get prepared for the opening, the day after before the door  stood Ciramor, Catalyna, Keizan, and Melissandre with her little sisters Aleshane and Ydiane.  10 of Catalyna’s stonelinker companions surrounded the door in a circle.  One after another they summoned forth the elementals first fire, air, earth, and water that were twice the size of Ourenos, while used the stone linker stones to suck in the elementals until the stones were overloaded with magic.  She used these overloaded stones to blow the locks off the door, causing the door to end up levitating in the air.  It was Ciramor’s turn with mask on face and the Wisdom of Eredan in his hands he took a half hour to stabilize the doors magic.  Ciramor then shouted to Keizan that its his.

The World Tree stepped up and created a green beams that hits the door.  The doors don’t budge but Keizan managed to make portal through the door and ordered Melissandre and her team through.  The Hom’chai shaman casted invisibility on the girls before they stepped through.

However, as soon as they stepped through the door the started to sizzle and the magic of equinox started to have effect.  Ciramor tried to hold it together but ordered everyone to stop there spells before anything get worst.  The door then closed and the locks reingaged.

On the other side of door, the sisters wondered what do as there invisibility spells wore off.  They are faced with something totally unexpected for a door that led to their forest a desolate plain with occasional purple grass when there was grass.  They decided to explore a bit before searching a way back home.

Will Ciramor and Catalyna be the new shipped couple in Eredan?
Will Milissandre, Aleshane, and Ydiane ever make it back to Guem?
and will the Elementals take revenge on the Stone Linkers for locking them up into stones like they were Pokemon?

#25 Re : Discussions about Eredan iTCG » December 27th: Guild meeting! » 27-12-2012 23:05:55

So the story starts with Abyssein coming back from interrogation of the Stranger and entering meeting room of the council.  Marlok stops his conversation with Chantelain and goes over to talk to Abyssien.

While Marlok is more interested in finding out what Abyssein, Abyssein demands to know what was going on.  Marlok explains that Ciramor had arrived with news from certian guilds.  After which Abyssein expostulates that his shadow magic wasn't having much of effect on the Stranger, so his interrogation of the Stranger didn't reveal much of anything and that Marlok might try putting some pressure on the Stranger in their next attempt.

Councillor Doyen Verace then introduces the guest speaker for the day and gives Ciramor the floor.

Ciramor starts telling the history of the doors.  He talks about how Bloodsword and Faceless found the first mysterious door in the middle of the forest which was stylized like the Eltarite's homes and how Fenrath came out of that door before it disappeared.  He then mentions how the dragon appeared and captured the essence of the Nehant by disappearing through another door.

Then he mentions the more recent history of how the stranger used the magic of Yakoushou to open the Xriarite door to allow Theya through and his fight with Theya and the Stranger in the forest in which the Sap Hearts intervened and stopped the door from opening.

He then finishes by mention a door in the style of the Nomads have appeared in the desert and that more recently, last chapter to be exact, the Zil had captured the Stranger and is now in the process of being interrogated in that very same castle.

Some guy representing Zil speaks up stating that the Zil would bring the Stranger to justice according to their laws.  And goes on to recount how that during the time the Pact was chasing after the Stranger, the Zircus fell to an invasion of Zombies because the Zil didn't have enough people to resist the said invasion.

They decide to table that for a later ruling and go on to discuss the difference between the door to infinity and the equinox that keep appearing.  They point out how in the past equinox would appear for short periods of times before just disappearing, but never lasted for this long.

Sapient brings up a runic legend about a runic door that was inscribed in the Temple of the Goddess and the council suggests that the Runics should go search for that door just in case the invaders might hit it next.

Admiral Al states that the Pirates will help the Runics with their cause, because troops of legionnaires trampling about the Temple of the Goddess might cause problems for some people in the White Isle.  She then suggests a momentarily truce between the Pirates and the Runics.  Aurius and Eilos conferred with each other before agreeing to the said truce.

The council agrees to let the Pirates and the Runics to handle that.

The  leader of the Stone Linker guild, Master Maen, requests to speak and is allowed.  He states that people are afraid of the Equinox and that the guild needs to ban together, so that they can reassure the people of the lands that they are in control of the situation to lessen the people’s fears.  He also the other guild leader that the Stonelinkers are willing to open up there pathways so it is easier and faster from one place to another.

Finally it is F'ey, the first of the new world tree to talk.  It explains that the Sap Hearts have the door in the forest under their control and that they need help from Ciramor and the stone linkers.

Master Maen frowns not being a big fan of the Sap Hearts but agrees to send a couple Stonelinker along at any rate and Ciramor accepted without hesitations.

Will the Pirates and the Runics actually get along?
What is Master Maen's beef with the Sap Hearts?
And should have I written this in past tense and not present tense?
