What brings the last update?
nothing too flashy, but solid cards nonetheless
[card]Short crystal blade[/card] is good, especially vs Pirate marau, Golems, Zil dagger and Imperial Trio. Not that Wbs were bad vs them before, but depending on the meta this could be a very good card in the future.
[card]Noz secret [/card]decent enough, i put in 2. better than [card]magic attack[/card] imo, since it chains AND adds a potential 4 extra stats. Especially good vs Zil priests/mages, Dh, Tsoutai, Runic priests ( all of which are generally difficult matchups)
[card]Tornado[/card] replaces [card]Lightning bolts[/card].
Why witchblade are not the best?
Weak order and base stats (except nadarya, we need more like her)
Cards that are actually good in design but just fall slightly below the level needed to make them good. Cases in point:
[card]Secret Weapon[/card]: at first seems like a powerhouse card, but a second look it DOES NOT add to one shot power, unless paired with ttd
[card]Witchblade Secret[/card]: Chains noz action. Seriously, chain to what, pathetic secret weapon? pathetic Dance of the blades? Come on!
[card]Dragon skin[/card]: initially i thought this card may be usable... but chain if one character is dead... only divided by two... and to add to the insult, it rounds UP. another pathetic card
[card]Neutralization[/card]: as always, the first glance says it is playable. but the fact that the character that plays it needs to survive means that unless it is played during the first 3 turns, it is a useless card. Fact.
[card]Pushing[/card]: Good concept ( chainable removal and some recycling)
Wait...only for warriors. WTF man.
[card]Remember![/card]: I see some good ideas here, truly. But the implementation is just too hard. You need at least one dead character and for the extra spell you need to be at 7hp or less. Useless first turn. Not the worst of the lot here, but design wise couldve been better.
A whole train-wreck of near-misses, could-have-beens and just painful-to-see cards. Why always WB?
What do they need to become the best of the best?
Anazra level 5 or replace her with someone with the following passive:
Chain on light spells, attack +1 AND spirit +1 ( look at how threatening tsoutai got after the +1 spirt from xianren) for all characters, and until the end of the game. Wouldn't hurt if you made the upcoming Wb a warrior/mage/marauder. (anti Pack)
Imo Wbs are a 'fair' deck and can beat any marauder/normal warrior decks well enough.
Big problems are 'unfair' Nebsen, Comp, Necros and Sitar Hero. Discard ( Priest, Courts, normal Circus) are also troublesome.
What they need is:
1) a chainable card like [card]Push![/card] or [card]Shadowblade[/card] to stop heals. Some might argue for [card]Sentence[/card], but Sentence does not work as well as it would have in other marauder decks because wb have very low base attack. ( playing sentence means that you sacrifice playing a RoD for example, cutting a lot of offensive power)
2) A Character ability , something like the impressive N'taba, but does this instead:
At the end of the turn, an Action or a Spell from the opposing discard pile is removed from the game.
Rather than a brutish way of just piling up more power on WBs (no more powercreep please), this way is more subtle and makes the opponent think twice before dumping his cards.
Why? Cause it removes Comp spells, [card]Sitar Hero[/card]/[card]Wrong Note[/card], Necrosis/[card]Necrology[/card]/[card]Fake Death[/card], prevents [card]Cloning[/card]--->[card]Indigestion[/card]. All bad Wb matchups
Why not just [card]anathematize[/card] you say? As per above, the low attack stats of the wb makes it highly undesirable to do so.
So there you go. What i honestly think Wbs need
On Noz blast....
Hopefully its the badass looking Ketanir ( corrupted Aeroaunt? ) See: [card]Civil War[/card], [card]Ketanir's Hand[/card]
Noz blast are still a respectable bunch, but Prophet really needs an update. I imagine the +1 Spirit to other characters still holding up, but the logical update would be that it is a permanent one, instead of disappearing after Prophet dies. Ketanir should start with 3 spirit, 4 would mean that The Dragon's Breath starts at a whopping 13 dmg, and we don't need that just yet. But the main upgrade should be toughness. 3 def and 13 hp should do nicely. In addition to that, he should have a niche ability, like Spells played by Ketanir cannot be ignored.
His order should be powerful and proactive, like: 1,2, 3, 5: Spirit +1 and draw and additional card ( maybe a bit too powerful though)
In general, they need something to counter heals, maybe a spell that says: ignore all heals played. Duration 2 fights. Idk (up to Feerik to decide/ balance this one out)
Im not much of a Noz blast kinda of guy. But really hoping they Give Wb some good cards this time Over to you Deleandro
easiest is zil priest with put-up job, stitches and maybe chiaroscuro. it comes naturally
Malaysian player here
Best way is to include obesity and/or anathematize. both common toolbox cards and playable by any deck. secret of the crow works too but only on kimiko. They are annoying but definitely beatable.
I would say that the captain would do ok tbh, just spam scrolls+pirate party and she'll do ok. Downside is that she'll have no revival of course, and lose the +2 from scrolls. On the other hand, the order improves quite a bit. Bear in mind though, that the capt needs a some help getting chains, so use cards like secret of the crow or obesity. Plus, its rather tricky using the deck at first, so bear with it
Best setup is admiral, souchi and azalys. ive tried all versions and have to say that that one is SO, SO much better than the other versions. start off with powder means that souchi and azalys can one shot anyone with a stink bomb+ shooter. The deck uses 3xkan-del which is banned most of the time, but since the post doesnt specify, then this version is valid for this post. Sure, the order bonus is a bit rough, but it is good to note that from the games that ive played, only 10% have tried to attack admiral on turn 1. Also, i use 3x pirate party, for excessive def and offense. Narwhal is outdated, sorry to say
So ive been having some great games using this deck, just want to share.
A total beast of a character, stick a slicer on this dude and see the body count go up. His unique passive provides for some interesting gameplay.
Difficult to one-shot and nice bonus. Passive is fairly decent, especially in the 2nd fight
Ive tried both him and Loq, the consul comes out tops due to his order and the free nox rune.
Cards:
2 [card]Runic Slicer[/card]
3 [card]Stamping[/card]
3 [card]Power of the Colossus[/card]
3 [card]Living blades[/card] the +2 def is assured if you have a shield, amazing card, basically +8 stats over 2 turns
1 [card]Protection of the Pantheon[/card] (nox)
3 [card]Resistance[/card] ignore the perma boost, the cor one is more than enough, play it like eltarite heritage
Toolbox:
1 [card]Sentence[/card]
1 [card]Dissidence[/card]
1 [card]Anathematize[/card]
1 [card]Secret of the Crow[/card]
1 [card]Artrezil's Heritage[/card]
1 [card]Light and Shadow Shield[/card]
Pros:
+ a variety of excellent chains in stamping/living blades/resistance
+ the late game power is unstoppable if you have slicer/ a lot o runes
+ solid counters, although reserved for consul
+ generally hard to one-shot
Cons:
- avoid going to points like the plague. the high hp of the bulls make it difficult to win there
- secret of the crow hits this deck hard
- magic is still a tricky matchup, put protection of the pantheons accordingly
- nox runes are hard to come by, cause ceremonial aint chainable, so play is confined to cor
Other cards to consider:
[card]Skirmish[/card] - good to note that the bonus applies to your living characters, so if you have one guy standing, you basically double your current attack
[card]Form a phalanx[/card] - im not a fan of this, although others might like it
[card]Ceremonial[/card]
[card]Combined blow[/card]- good card, but better in an all-aggro version with loq> consul
[card]Runic shield[/card]
[card]Centorium helmet[/card]- good on both consul and privus, but i dropped it due to its lack of chain
neat trick:
if u have initiative and dissidence in your opening hand, you can use privus vs 'prey' ( best targets include zil legend and recepticle) on the first turn to counter. next turn both are untapped but the prey will be 'left for dead', a perfect target on turn 3.
So there you have it. Enjoy!
So... my scumbag brain has been nagging me all night... thinking up some crazy shit when suddenly BOOM! Ive got 3 new deck ideas XD. From now on ill refer to these decks as Cool, CLassy and Crazy ( Yeah, its 5 am right here and my brain aint letting me sleep so have mercy on me lol) Note: I don't have any of the decks here, all my mental tinkering, but lets just enjoy the decks, shall we?
First up:
COOL aka The Seven Swords. For those cool purists who like fancy swords, this is the deck for you.
The basis of the deck is to play your normal equip-based Kotoba, but with ridiculous resistance to magic (looking at you Compendium) Plus, the Sword Corrupted also plays a major role in smoothing out your opening hand. Plus the order bonus of the characters is quite synergistic for the first round.
Key character of the deck. Card speaks for himself
The only other character who can chain corrupted in a deck with Iro, old foamy gets a place in this deck. Plus, dude can play DSH, which is a big plus in a deck notorious for its weakness vs magic
The third man in our trinity. The utility guy, Furagu's job is to equip glory to the emperor and *hopefully* survive aggro decks in the process, play a 2nd or 3rd turn dissidence, or execute a smooth kusanagi+secret of the crow. Vs mages he gives iro some crucial time
Cards:
Le Epic Swords
1x [card]Corrupted[/card]
1x [card]Chimera[/card]
1x [card]Chalice, Nehantic blade[/card] (Anti -mage)
1x [card]The Emperor's Speech[/card]
2x [card]Life Devourer[/card]
2x [card]Kusanagi [/card] lv 1 ( you guessed it, more anti-mage)
2x [card]Taichi Sword[/card]
Actions:
3x [card]Glory to the Emperor[/card]
1x [card]Artrezil's Heritage[/card]
1x [card]The Secret of the Crow[/card]
1x [card]Dissidence[/card]
1x [card]Anathematize[/card]
1x [card]Lord of War[/card] Card was made with the intention for Foamy, i think
1x [card]Kensensei[/card]
1x [card]Weapons at Will[/card]
Plus:
1x [card]Dark Stone Heart[/card]
So, there you have it. An anti mage touch to the old kotoba trio.
Your move Anreyna.

CLASSY. For those of you lucky enough to own the powerful Ourenos, why not try this deck? Comprising of the 3 most powerful individual characters in the Sap Guild, i bring you the classy sap trio of:
A monstrosity. Our key play involves tanking him up on the first round with Corrupted+Life Devourer for a permanent 13/15 attack. After that, its all bonkers with your other 2 champions going for no-holds-barred offense.
As per the above deck, this one also focuses on having a second character able to chain Corrupted. This World-Tree powerhouse will be looking to quickdraw or living nature ( x+8) the opposition to death
Everyone's favorite elfine warrior of death is here mainly to smooth up the order bonus of the team, while also chaining life devourers, if need be. also useful with eltarite heritage
Items:
1x [card]Corrupted[/card]
3x [card]Life Devourer[/card]
1x [card]Blue-wood splinter [/card](as an extra weapon on the first turn)
Other Cards:
1x [card]Artrezil's Heritage[/card]
1x [card]The Secret of the Crow[/card]
1x [card]Dissidence[/card]
1x [card]Anathematize[/card]
1x [card]Living Nature[/card]
2x [card]Obesity[/card]
3x [card]Eltarite Heritage [/card](mainly to annoy Compendium)
2x [card]Quickdraw[/card]
1x [card]Hibernation[/card]
2x [card]Power of our Ancestors [/card]
Nothing totally different from other builds i suppose, although this one probably has the best order bonus as well as the toughest stats combination. Most powerful of the 3 decks here.

CRAZY: This one... i just want to make it XD
I dont know if anyone has posted anything close to this, but here it goes:
The Special One people think of in a demon deck. So powerful that you basically assume the your character fighting him is already dead. (Yes, dont deny it)
You'll see ;)
XD
A nehant guem deck right? with a twist :)
i think i love this card XD One card makes 2 unused characters and up to 3 unused cards very much playable
Instead of a boring [card]lords of the ruin[/card]+[card]nehant's splinter[/card] in nehant marauder, why not [card]Lords of the ruin[/card]+[card]black chimera [/card]in Warrior?
Or better yet [card]Nehant's Presence[/card]+ [card]Corruption of the Soul[/card] with an active ruin? Thats 4 different dmg source in a turn, 2/3 extra dmg each!
Not really sure what the optimal decklist is yet, but here is a rough draft:
Items:
3x [card]Black Chimera[/card]
1x [card]Dark stone Heart[/card]
Other cards:
3x [card]Lords of the ruin[/card]
3x [card]Nehant's Presence[/card]
3x [card]Corruption of the Soul[/card]
1x [card]Break the First Chain[/card]
2x [card]Hit for hit[/card]
2x [card]Dark Fury[/card]
1x [card]Artrezil's Heritage[/card]
1x [card]The Secret of the Crow[/card]
1x [card]Dissidence[/card]
1x [card]Anathematize[/card]
2x [card]Ecstasy[/card]
So there you go, le crazy third deck.
Your opinions please good sirs. And have a good weekend :)
i dont know if anyone has reported it before but its not in the latest posts.
The situation: my elfines vs compendium
Turn 4, i have initiative.
Mel vs Phytia
Mel plays dissidence
Phytia plays Dragon's Wit+ Vanish (lame ass tactic i know)
What should happen is that my dissidence blocks out Dragon's Wit Effect, thus rendering Vanish unplayable, but lame phytia still survives due to the Vanish effect.
I hope someone looks into this.
The thing about WB is that their order bonuses, considering it is an aggro deck, is very weak. Pathetic actually
Assuming you have initiative, the first 3 turns is: Anazra, Ylliana, Naya.
1st turn Anazra is .... +1 def. Consider other aggro decks, Souchi +4 max, Saphyra attack=9/12, Yu Ling SP and Attack +1, don't let me start on Kotori.... etc and you get the idea.
Second turn, well, you can say goodbye to naya's order and expect Ylliana's 95% of the time. Thus, total bonus from order ( first 3 turns) is +1 def, +1 attack.
If opponent starts first: Naya, Ylliana, Anazra. Total Bonus is +1 attack.
Admiral's bonus alone is +2 attack, +2 def, so yeah.
Fact is, WB need a better order. Also, a character that gives +1 Spirit to all chars would also be nice
I would highly recommend Ica-Rusty. dude starts off with rusty arm and thins out your deck for [card]Supplying[/card]. Plus he can use DSH to counter mages. if that sticks, hell be immune to [card]Flames of the Phoenix[/card]. The best part is that he can also chain [card]Lost Scroll from Kan-Del[/card], which is freakishly powerful
Hi guys. ive been using this build up lately and its been working out fine. its very fast and lean, and ive made it very smooth/ chainable. Just want to know what u guys think. Currently 43 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw, but mostly in the grave.
Chars:
[card]Captain Al Killicrew[/card]
[card]Flammara[/card]
[card]Ica-Rusty[/card]
Key Cards:
3 [card]Firecracker Chain[/card]
3 [card]Supplying[/card]
2 [card]Sham Powder[/card]
2 [card]Mechanic Hornet[/card]
3 [card]P.L.O.P[/card]
1 [card]Flames of the Pheonix[/card] lv 2
Fillers/ Counters
1 [card]Dissidence[/card]
1 [card]Secret of the Crow[/card]
1 [card]Artrezil's Heritage[/card]
1 [card]Dark Stone Heart[/card]
1 [card]Ica Rusty's Mechanical Arm[/card]
1 [card]Analyze[/card]
Deck starts off with 19 cards in deck due to rusty's arm, and 13 of the 19 cards are normally chainable, with firecracker chain chainable with rusty. Most games end on turn 4, turn 5 max. Its crucial to identify which strategy route to go for in the beginning, either using supplying+firecrackers, or plop+hornet or just pile on powder for flames. Deck uses the best trophy cards available in the game to counter ( secret of the crow/ dissidence) plus can hold its own vs mages using Dsh, analyze and sham powder, albeit slowly.
Is there any chance the legendary Al might be Marauder or at least Warrior/Marauder?
Hmm, maybe [card]Eradication[/card] to go with the lock theme
Aura of the divine warrior usage:
Runic Warrior Agillian ( with correct runes): nemaria's trident+ aura= ecstasy-like effect
hmm, i think for tsoutai, the cards they are getting are pretty good. xianren lv 3 looks like a beast and karukai tooth is a solid a card as any. mastery of the flawseeker provides tsoutai another route of attack, instead of relying only on katamaru and flawseekers calling. only time will tell, but for me this update is a good, non-op update, at least for tsoutai
I cannot express the extent of my sadness. all the nerf cards affect the decks that i currently own. while i do agree that cards like ecstasy, wild buds and dilemma deserve a nerf, i am just disgusted by the way the whole thing is being handled. the last time a nerf occured, the way feerik gave out compensation was very unfair. solra was worth more than 100k before the announcement of the ban, and panic selling forced prices down to around 50k. feerik then set the compensation payment as, correct me if im wrong, 60k. thus someone who owned a solra suddenly had his card devalued greatly because of the nerf.
Ok. So now my concern is with ecstasy, a card that I and other players also have.
The thing with this current situation is that feerik is also giving out a 30% discount on all boosters. this means that a whole shitload of cards will pile up, including ecstasy. before the announcement of this nerf, ecstasy was worth a solid 180k. shortly after the announcement, about 6 hours or so ( as i am writing this) it is worth 110k. In 6 hours my expensive card has been devalued by more than 33% and will undoubtledly fall even furthur, given the fact that nehant cards are worth a lot and more ppl will buy discounted nehant boosters. what i greatly and sadly fear is the price that feerik will put in as compensation. based on the solra experience, i know it will not be much. hell, i suspect even 60k would seem fair to feerik, after all the devaluation of the card is done with.
So, is this fair to players who have bought ecstasy?
I say no. Because if feerik is the one who has messed up with ecstasy, i say why should the people who bought ecstasy be punished? If someone is listening, please for the love of god, do not break the heart of the people who love this game and put in a shitty compensation.
A suggestion, if i may, is to give an option of having the card retaken but at the exact cost the card was bought, instead of the price of the card after all the panic selling. ie i bought my ecstasy for 120k. i think it is fair to allow it to be taken back for the exact same price, ( no tax please) instead of a rundown 60k or so.
I love this game. Please handle this thing very carefully, or many people will get upset
This is the deck im using:
Naya Ylliana Anazra
Chains:
3 [card]Witchblade trump[/card]
3 [card]Witchblade armor[/card]
1 [card]The Secret of the Crow[/card]
1 [card]Reborn[/card]
Other Cards:
3 [card]Rain of Death[/card]
3 [card]Sliding[/card]
1 [card]Artrezil's Heritage[/card]
1 [card]The Last Action[/card]
1 [card]Dissidence[/card]
2 [card]Mental Prison[/card]
1 [card]Break the second chain[/card]
I used to hate wb intensely, but completely fell in love with em after I actually used them for myself.
Secret weapon, while a good card, is somewhat a difficult card to build around and the relevant chains, light blow/ttd is a too clunky imo. in that they are useless with the other cards in the deck. If one shots are what you are looking for, RoDs do the same thing, usually more.
Your build seems to lack both the ability to kill out of play and to remove permanents which are crucial for any marauder deck. sliding for me has fitted in both roles perfectly. i really hope you try wb trump+ sliding
Double mental prisons basically rape pure mage decks, plus break the second chain ensures that you have a total of 4 should you need them
hope this helps
hmm, id remove the fu shi mi combo altogether. get some [card]double clay[/card] for uber defense, [card]Rain of Death[/card] for raw power, and some [card]Sliding[/card] for perma removal/sniping
Hmm, traditionally marauders are designed to be the anti-mages of the game. Most marauders have the ability to totally destroy mages using various anti-mage cards or guild cards that can counter spells :
Zil : [card]Dark Stone Heart[/card]/ [card]Nehantic Stone[/card],[card] Difference of opinion[/card]
Nomads (Eclipse) : [card]Harshness[/card]
Kotoba (Trackers) : [card]Transmission of Knowledge[/card], [card]Tracker's Emblem[/card]
Nehantist ( Demons) : [card]Dark Stone Heart[/card]/ [card]Nehantic Stone[/card], [card]Eliminehantation[/card]
Noz (Witchblades) : [card]Neutralization[/card], [card]Mental prison[/card], [card]Reborn[/card]
.
.
.
Pirate : [card]Analyze[/card] -_-
are u kidding me?
While I agree that pirate marauders don't suffer much against pure mages, i find that against Demon Hunters and to a lesser extent Witchblades, they are somewhat at a disadvantage since they cant do much against spells. Analyze is a joke and i find it insulting that other marauder decks have STRICTLY better answers against mage/ spells compared to pirates.
Based on the new runic card '[card]protection of the pantheon[/card]' i think something like this would be appropriate:
Spell-Sniper
Marauder
Item- One-Handed Powder
The next spell played by the opposing character is ignored and is placed in his hand.
Deals 2 direct damage to an opposing character, this card discards at the end of the fight.
Dual wield
Chain: Item
At first glance the card may seem a bit OP, but considering the recent power-creep , i think its fair to give pirates some love. ( especially after the 'meh' flammara update)
Opinions are welcomed
lol yeah got the trophy
Btw, the art for the card is simply stunning. Absolutely love it.
Well done Kahouet.
alright. thanks
Nice Zurga!
Hmm, does the original story indicate what caste/ class this Flammara character is gonna be?
id use [card]sliding[/card] instead of devouring swarm
yup, sorry bout the confusion. ive changed his stats a bit on the original post.
