So I was running through my head for some sneaky ways to play a I.H.A.S or a weapons at will deck just to spice my game play up abit. Then I came across Psalm (not quite sure how to link cards from in game). But with his ability to heal kotoba / sap heart warriors + his charater bonus to negate 2 magic damage throws some survivablity in your favor to slow play abit to sneak cards in your graveyard without trying to be op and force the anathematize. So Im interested to hear the pros and cons about this guy and maybe he can be worked into a tournament room deck.

You want to play Psalm in an IHAS deck? You can't alter his attack...this fact completely negates the pluses from -2 to magic dam and healing ability.
Hors ligne
So teaming Psalm with Rargnor and Moarg playing items like amber spear and Morning Star Weapon having purpose and bonuses from going from field to graveyard and playing Cacophony doing stabb damage with Psalm leaving a slick IHAS played on late turns for a team sweep defeats the purpose?
Hors ligne
IMO, yeah. His attack doesn't go up, his defence doesn't go up. IHAS card heals 2, and increases attack and defense dramatically for hom'chai. You have no need for a character that causes no damage in what is, for all intents and purposes, a damage based deck. I understand you want to mix it up, but that just wouldn't work...and that's why, in over 10,000 fights, I've never seen that line up.
Hors ligne
IHAS decks have 15 items and 5 action cards...done. 3 IHAS and 2 watcher...nothing else, that's what they do.
Hors ligne
Ok so what I am getting from your arguement is that it is not a "IHAS deck" but a deck with IHAS in it..lol
Hors ligne
The whole point of an deck with IHAS or WAW in it is to cause damage, not heal/protect etc. You want all three characters to inflict as much damage as possible. That's not gonna happen with Psalm in there.

I've seen decent WaW with Furagu, who is essentially Psalm on steroids, problem is I always carry a shifting sand/anathematize XD

Then hope you never play a deck like mine.
The reason it wouldn't work, your deck incorporates IHAS as a toolbox card, it isn't a glass cannon, and because you'll have other cards, it's wallop is diluted. If IHAS is your main damage dealer in a deck like that, it's ill afforded over other options.
If you want to make a deck that can use IHAS,but fairs well in most scenarios

The set up I was looking at was:
Redmark
Rargnor
Psalm
Amber Spear x3
Amber Dagger x2
MorningStar Weapon x2
Skyward Boots x2
Idol of Life x3
Rosemary of Serenityx1-2 (playable by psalm doesn't get the demon hunter effect but acts as a watcher for ihas and adds an item to your discard , i had it tested and works.)
Totemic Launch x2
Cacophony x2
Items Have a Soul x2

1st: just in case you didn't notice, IHAS only counts each DIFFERENT item in your discard pile, so in general your deck would only have 6 different items (and thats not counting the fact that amber dagger would attach itself to your opponent)
and also what sounds good on paper might not be great in actual battle. Psalm might seem good on defense, but on the offense side he is next to nothing. Also the fact that an IHAS deck focuses on fast hit while cacophony tactics focuses on slow and steady damage kinda makes the deck losing it's focus.
Also, IMO ,if I faced your deck,I would still relate it to an IHAS deck, since your deck is full of items, so I would notice once the 1st round is over and you discarded. So the part where you wanna make a deck that UTILIZES IHAS instead of CIRCLING around it is kinda not viable.

Well damn there goes that bubble. I was under the impression that the characters would do enough "stabb" damage early on and have enough survivabilty to get those KO hits when ihas enters play.

haha well at least you put in some effort to think about a deck that differs from what everyone else is using, albeit sllightly. So a Thumbs up for you for the effort!

That's the fail IHAS deck building that gets countered too easily.
A good IHAS mixes up.
Cacophony and IHAS doesn't sound bad.

Psalm is also decent in an MMM deck

whats a mmm deck?
