I was looking at caste's today and i've never really noticed how slanted they are. The Kotoba (the guild obvously favored by Feerik) have a whopping 4 different caste's! More than any other guild . . .
The noz and Nomads now have 3 caste's each which is more than the other guilds. The Zil and Merc's only have 2 caste's each and the Pirates, Saps and Runics only have 1 and the nehants have 0. Granted those last 4 guilds are the newest guilds so I understand that . . . but here are my suggestions . . .
Since the Zil haven't had a new caste since before I can remember and likely the start of the game, I'd like to see them get something new. Right now they have discarding with circus and big attack with the pack, the shadow mage deck is WEAK! I suggest giving it it's own caste and improving it.
As for the merc's, Tempus is great but let's face it Avolonian's are a FAIL. I would like to see comething that complemented their "for hire" nature. Cards that make the opposing characters suffer or "pay" for fighting them. Things like "your opp suffers damage for playing cards" and "X damaged delt to you is also delt to an opp character"
Sap's already have enough cards to make a second caste, just organize them into one. Same with the nehants, corruption decks should have a caste as should the hate shadow decks that prevent drawing cards. Same with the pirate's . . . their mages love lightning so why can't that be a caste. Runics are still too new to do much with though.
These are my suggestions, take them for what they are worth.

1 - Archon isn't really a Caste.
You're encouraged to have only 1 of them, so they're more of a "leader" thing.
I think only Runic Power interacts with their Caste.
2 - Zil has a huge class variety, reducing the need for Castes. For example, Feerik created a "Caste within a Caste" by adding Priests to Circus, and Theurgies designed for them.
3 - Zil has a good variety of non-Caste cards around wich you focus decks, like Dagger Master,
4 - Noz'Dingard Envoys and Kotoba are mostly focused around a certain class and card type (mage/spells vs warrior/items) so they are more focused on Castes to "separate" deck concepts than other decks.
5 - Nehantists are mostly split by race and/or class.
6 - Sap Hearts are mostly split by race.

I disagree Nurvus (nothing new there)
Zil has a huge class variety, reducing the need for Castes
So you're trying to tell me that the zil have a larger class variety that the kotoba? Let's explore that, Demon hunters . . . Maurader, mage, demon hunter, crow . . . Thats the caste of one demon hunter character. How many maurader mages do the zill have . . . I can tell you ZERO. Just checking the market place, the zil have about 26 characters to choose from, while kotoba have bout 33.
Lets look at the poor pirates 18 characters. Granted they are a fairly new guild, but still . . . They need a new caste!
Kotoba are mostly focused around a certain class and card type (mage/spells vs warrior/items)
. . . don't you mean rolling all those class types into one?
We need new castes for certain guild . . . Period!

I didn't say we don't need new Castes...
I'm saying you can't just compare number of Castes between guilds and call it "unfair".
The way Castes vary between Guilds is connected to several factors...
I completely disagree Kotoba is the favorite Guild of Feerik.

And yes, Zil have huge class variety.
The lack of multi-class Mages is replaced by a focus on certain types of Spells and plenty Nature/Shadow Guemelites.
