Hey guys,

Being quite disappointed with the Zil priest build I’m working on a low cost discard deck without the opponent’s deck feed mechanic which sucks.
Low cost because none of the power card are in there.

Here’s the beast.

I'd take out a Pickpocket for a Look Away! Just seems better, IMO.

Ditch Kriss for Alyce. Helps with the discard aspect. Or if you don't have [card]Sarcastic Laugh[/card] take out Terrifik instead. I've found zil priest deck good if you do hand clog and cycling your cards back to the deck. It's hard to control the game, but is very possible and messes with opponent's heads.

It looks like your main attack is lowering spirit and hitting with Chiaroscuro while increasing defense. Interesting to see how that'll work on the truly heavy hitters (Ice Elf, The Pack, and a Solarian [card]Harshness[/card] deck.

Except Solarian Harshness deck won't really bother you that much if you don't play mages, like erm... Alyce.

She's discarding cards from discard, this won't help to empty opponent's hand; this will certainly help in mirror match but this deck isn't tuned to ELO, no expensive cards included.

[card]Sarcastic Laugh[/card] is not a good card for discard mechanic.

Yeah, the Zil priest decks are expensive. Wait until they get some more permanents... >:)

Hand clog is a very efficient mechanic.

The opponent needs key cards to beat you, but instead draws your Vicious Circle/Sarcastic Laugh...
How efficient is that?
You screw his gameplay.

There should be more hand clog cards.
I think it's a more interesting mechanic than discard/hand deny.

1 - Because plain discard is too effective.
2 - Hand clog cards have more than one effect.

Sarcastic Laugh deals decent damage AND screws the opponent's draws.
The same can't be said about a Discard card.

If there was a "pure hand clog" card without any other effect, I suppose it would be:

Astral Map
Guild: Zil Warriors
Class: Priest

Theurgy Destiny - Circus
Choose up to 5 cards from your Hand or Discard Pile. "Astral Map" and the chosen cards are placed in the opposing player's Deck at the end of the fight.
Chain.
The Sun aligned with the Moon mean something good will happen to you, but you will have to make the right decision.

At what point does it become a liability for the opponent? From the fourth round it is already too late most of the time...

How can you be comparing a card that deals Spirit +2 damage AND gives the opponent a trash card in the deck, to a card that deals ZERO damage, and discards 3 cards.

[card]Sarcastic Laugh[/card] is for a deck that deals damage AND slows the opponent's strategy.
[card]Indigestion[/card] is to deck the opponent out.

It's like comparing [card]Fatal Countdown[/card] with [card]Root[/card]...

i m a zil circus priest player... and i love my deck... i m going like (ò.ó) on anyone who says they are weak and stuff... of course they wont beat everything but they have a chance against everything and they sell themselves quite well if played smart enough...

unfortunately there are some ppl seeing a discard deck whenever the psychurgist is among them... and my poor terror clowns are reduced to nothing but discarders... pity but its exactly vice verca where the fun lies... when u push up to 9 cards in the enemy deck he is like going crazy... then forced to some strange moves... either dropping the shit and risk to get it thrown back at you or keep it in hand to prevent the clowns to use em again and thus limiting ure own gameplay to a few cards...

I've hit 1900 elo with those priests. Pity that they have no faith or anger...

As for the comment on the deck not being effective, try it first before knocking it. It's actually really fun seeing hand clog and, just when they think one priest is going down, +4 defense and more than half heal??? Chiaroscuro for a clean-up.

The first two turns are mostly set up, defend and Chiaroscuro. Then turn 3 or more is the start of something beautiful. I love it when they let Terrifik go turn 3 with 2 Sarcastic Laughs in hand...

this kind of deck is just weak...
I didn't play it, but i was against a fully oppti deck(legendaries &co) and it just seemed too slow..
the cards in my deck didn't really bothered me, I won pretty easily...
btw nurvus, indigestion isn't only a discard card...
I use it in my zil shadow mage deck... It's really good to break opponent's strategy...
especially when you know he's saving a card for later...

as i stated earlier they are quite effective... believe or not... and prolly skaddooosh just went in with one of the decks that sweep the floor with clowns... so he thinks they are weak because he is just seeing it from his point of view with a prolly superior deck... like tempus screws me up regularely but what u both seem to forget is that there is a vast variety of decks out there and i m having an overall winning rate of 80% with my zil priests... i wish i had that with other decks of mine but they ARE effective...

@dooger ye i love it when terrifik throws his bombs... he looks weak and is easily underestimated but he really rocks!

I faced them with a zil dagger and an eclipse deck...
won each time...
as I stated, the cards put in our deck doesn't bother us that much...
and it's pretty weak. I mean, they don't deal loads of damage...
they are really slow
why alyce? qhe chains spell, not theurgies, and she is so weak, even my grandma can hit me harder... why not use kriss instead?

this kind of deck can't compete in the actual meta...
they don't have time to jam the opponent's hand...
and they don't deal enough damages...
just compare with the nomads litany+supplication potential damage...

but it must still be fun playing that deck in normal room...
