So I'm trying to think of an odd deck...
So far, this is what I've got.
After some thought, I came to the conclusion that Vaerzar doesn't really offer anything to this Deck.
- Darkat is not a Magical Pet
- Vaerzar has 1 Printed Spirit.
Damage:
2x [card]Dark Light[/card] or [card]Ice Crystals[/card]
3x [card]Darkat[/card]
3x [card]Cerebral Crook[/card]
2x [card]Magic Attack[/card]
Defense & Recycle:
3x [card]Double Clay[/card]
3x [card]Beyond Vision[/card]
3x [card]Magic Servant[/card]
Utility:
1x [card]Breaker[/card]
Basic Strategy:
- Cerebral Crook makes you draw more cards
- More cards in your hand = stronger Dark Light
- Darkat changes your Printed Attack, affecting Cerebral Crook's extra attack (TESTED)
- Magic Servant provides decent defense and helps shuffle the deck quite well
- Beyond Vision provides extra defense and recovers from a max Dark Light.
If you use Ice Crystals instead of Dark Light, Beyond Vision is your defense against Discard decks.
- 3x Cerebral Crook in play = 8 cards in your hand each turn.
- Cerebral Crook + Darkat + Dark Light (full discard) -> Magic Attack = 7/9 + (7/9 printed attack + 2/3 printed spirit) + 7 attack (dark light) = 23/29 damage = Fatality

Haven't tried it beyond Training Rooms.
Currently leveling Prophet, Pilkim and Aerouant (the 3 last Noz I need to get Erevent), and these characters aren't exactly great for this, but I'm doing quite well so far.

Played against this in he training rooms. Odd, but surprisingly effective... if you survive the first turns of stocking the characters. Cross your fingers for double clay
I know this is an interesting way to use dark light, but wouldn't ice crystals be a more flexible alternative? Obviously less boost potential, but also nice in that it doesn't depend on so many other cards to give a boost.
The cycling involved with this deck is incredible.

I simply had too many Dark Lights (3), too many Magic Attacks (3) and too few Darkats (2) and Magic Servants (2) when we fought.
Now I reversed it and I almost always have what I need.
Ice Crystals might be better, but maybe too many permanents? Dunno.

Another thing, two of the characters I was using do not belong in this Deck.
Anryena would give all other noz +1 defense and all compendium -1 magic damage reduction.
Pythia heals everyone on her turn if she has a magic permanent (and she will ).

Question; why [card]Erevent[/card]?
Hors ligne
Interestng deck I was trying to make a "Battle Mage" Deck with things like Pilkim, Anryena and Dragon Alishk. Unforunately Dark Light and Than the Sword were my only attack boosters. I'll give this deck a try with some Ice Crystal though.
Dragon Knights ftw

Question; why [card]Erevent[/card]?
... did you even read what I typed?
I'm simply doing the trophy that GIVES ME Erevent.
That's to explain why I was using prophet, aerouant and pilkim in the training room.
I have not tried this deck with the proper characters (anryena, pythia and aerouant) at max level.

Yeah, I did read it. By the way you wrote it, it seemed as if that was one of the characters you were going for. *shrug*

Question; would you have to play Ice Crystals AFTER Darkat, since Darkat effects your printed attack, so you can get the damage boost from Ice Crystals?

nope. Im running a battle compendium deck. It doesnt matter what order you do it in
Hors ligne
At least one thing possibly keeping this deck from being competitive, is the fact that the turn you play Darkat, it doesn't affect that turn's [card]Cerebral Crook[/card]'s extra attack (but affects the next turns).

Awesome, thanks.

Well, the deck does have quite a bit of defense. Which do you think does better then? ice Crystals or Dark Light?
Hors ligne
I think Dark Light is a good counter against discards, as you discard the cards to your benefit.
Ice Crystals is more reliable BUT:
- too many permanents -> little recycling -> better chance you'll deckout
- not as much potential to destroy the opponent in one attack.

Gotcha.
I've actually been trying it without Darkat, mainly because I can't find any. But so far it's been working pretty well. Kill turns are Dark Light followed by Magic Attack. Game...blouses.
Is Darkat needed? Seems when you can pump your attack +7 a turn without a care since you have Magic Servant/Beyond Vision, things are gonna be dying pretty quick.
Hors ligne
Darkat makes YOU hit harder... but also makes your Cerebral Crook hit harder...
With Darkat + Cerebral Crook alone, use Magic Attack and you hit 7-9 followed by 9-11 (assuming 2 printed spirit) and no attack bonuses.
Kills everything.
Darkat gives you more damage than Dark Light.

Tihs deck just got deadlier with the expansion of deck size.
Dragon Knights ftw
Hors ligne
tried it out...
the deck sets up too slowwly to be effective...
(still super fun to play though... ^^' )

"-espèce d'enfoirés!"

Yeah, that's the one drawback I found too. Which is odd, considering 1-2 Crooks and you're drawing your deck pretty damn fast.
Hors ligne
Yeah basically it's a deck requires setup. Fun deck but no where near top tier.
Dragon Knights ftw
