ok so I'd like to shed some light on how to counter the top ELO decks and I encourage everyone else to contribute. Hopefully this will keep many players that use carbon copies of the "flavor of the week" decks from taking advantage of misinformed players, which can otherwise decimate their decks with x3 of one card.
I'd like to start of this week with a counter to "wild bud" sap heart decks. And although there is less than 2 days left on this week's ELO, feerik has yet to abolish any sap heart cards, it has gotten my deck to 1800+.
I will try to make this simple by naming 1-2 cards that can effectively counter any of the top ELO players.
So sick of those sap heat decks? Simple counter..
"pray to spirits"
1) I have been using an all guem deck that has x3 "pray to spirits" and 95% of the time I can beat a sap heart deck just by spamming "pray to spirits." it is also very effective against nehantist decks. "dissidence" is also an effective card.
2) "dazzle" for those beat down decks. also "demons may rise" and "demonic portal" which I'm sure most of you know about by now.
3) tempus decks are hard to counter. you can use dazzle or demonic portal combo to counter their celerity card, or use "deflection" to counter "aging" which I have done only once. You really have to check their decks and anticipate their next move. more often than not I have been able to do more damage with my demon hunter guem deck to win by points against a tempus deck (especially when i use "fight fire with fire" against celerity.
4) against noz decks, it is useful to carry "reborn" if you have a mage/guem deck.
that is all I have for now. All these counters I have used against 1800+ players, and it has given me 1800+ ELO cause I utilize these counters and make a deck that surrounds the "flavor of the week" (like I said it's sap hearts this week, so use "pray to spirits" to counter them).

How about [card]Mental prison[/card] for Tempus and Sap mages/world trees C:?
yaaa-haaaaaa!!

Also Nehantic Stone. Most of the time if I use it there's a 50% chance that they'll quit.

mental prison is good, only drawback is you have to be a mage or mental guem.
nehantic stone is very annoying! I don't know if it works against sap hearts cause most of their spells attach to themselves, it's good for blocking damage (but again I don't know if it would work against wild buds since it does damage after the turn).
top ELOs are all about getting those right counter cards, hopefully this helps some people.

We are talking about fighting against decks that use Mastery, The Prestige and whatnot.
I saw a Tempus deck just now using Mastery -> heartrending dilemma first turn and the second fight was Turn 11 already.
He then used another heartrending dilemma -> aging to nearly kill 1 char.
Then he used time to die -> celerity for 40+ Attack.
Finally a third heartrending -> aging.
4 turns and it was over.

Haha, that is pretty bad. Tempus could be nerfed a bit more really. When they wont draw there dilemma's early they cant do much thought.
and norad, the nehantic stone works against sap mage, but the dark stone heart will counter them better, as it remains attached. Just make sure you kill of hailwalker,
and they can't win if you have it (If they are not prepared that is).
Here is another card that counters wild buds.
