Different Business Model

I'm not aware of the % of players that pay, much less the average € spent per player (among the active playerbase).

Still, I'd like to share this as a hint at what can be done to improve Eredan (or any game).

[In this Universe]

You play for Free. Each game awards XP, Crystals, progress towards Trophies wich give Cards or Crystals.

Spending € gives you Feez that let you buy Boosters (no connection with active play) and get expired Trophies (promotes active play)

[Result]
- Whoever spends the most € is the best - this is lame
- Spend € regularly or forget competition - could be done better

---
[In a Parallel Universe]

You play for Free. Each game awards XP, Crystals, progress towards Trophies wich give Cards or Crystals.

Spending € does NOT give Feez, but instead makes you Premium for X days, allowing you to sell in the market, causing each game to also award Feez (on top of everything else), and doubling your Crystal and XP rewards and doubling Trophy count (you finish trophies faster, etc).

The act of buying Boosters would no longer allow selling in the Market, only the Premium status.

Hypotetically, Premium would cost 5 € for 1 week, 15 € for 1 Month

As a teaser, Dailies might award a small amount of Feez, giving active players (paying and non-paying) enough for a Booster per month.

[Result]
- All your rewards are connected to playing - € just makes it faster/better
- I bet your kidney that this would pull more players to spend € than any other model, effectively increasing your sales thousandfold.

not to mention premium is a more constant income stream. Some games are set up like this, like tribal wars. Most are set-up with the fleece your customer for every cent mentality with the item shops and things like that evony and games like this come to mind

In a game where fairplay and competitivity are both important, giving players a feel of trust is important - and knowing there are simply 2 "modes" the paying and the non-paying, and that beyond that it's just a matter of skill and effort, will make a zillion more players willing to invest into the game.

Re : Different Business Model

Now, thats something I disagree. If I wanted to play a game that would require hours and hours of my time in order to get strong I would Play WoW or Rift.

It's a TCG (well you can remove the trade..) not a MMORPG where the more you play you get bigger rewards. I like to play competitive, but I dont have time to play a lot, and would always get the feeling I'm wasting my money because I'm not there playing during my premmium time. This kind of thing is not healthy.

Re : Different Business Model

Good point, but that depends only on the way time is "consumed".

Imagine instead you get X hours of Premium time, but that time is only spent while you play.

The ways you can implement it are immense, and I agree with you with the negative potential of bad implementations of this.
