I was in the level room, and a Lv 1 Hook with a minimum attack of 6 played a Narwhal and hit my Shui Khan (Who had a defense of 1) and did 5 damage. The problem with that is I had Maylss, which should have made Narwhal do 1 less damage. Does Maylss only lessen physical and magical damage?

Malyss should prevent any damage.

Well, he didn't.

Let it be noted that the damage reduction from Malyss may not affect the "number" you see popping out when damage happens.
By this I mean, if I have [card]Disappearance[/card] and opponent's [card]Kimiko[/card] gets into a fight, I see the red -2 on all my characters but the one that has Disappearance doesn't lose any Health.
Could it have been the same?
You might have seen -5 damage pop up but the Health dropping by 4?
Oh, and btw, [card]Narwhal[/card] is physical damage, so there's nothing funky about it - Malyss does reduce it.
Also, even though I can't think of a Pirate-accessible card (assuming you were playing against Pirates) that increases damage dealt... could there have been one? Or were you playing against a Golem? xD

I suppose it's possible that it displayed the incorrect number. I honestly wasn't thinking to check that. if it happens again I'll be sure to note it.

I have a tracker deck.
With Malyss you take one less damage, but the number you see is the full damage.
For example, with Ice Shield you see 2 damage, but they decrease by 1 (except for Malyss himself obviously).

I should be more observant to notice that. Thanks.
