if you don't like [card]captain all killicrew[/card] , you can use [card]ica-rusty[/card] or even [card]foam giant[/card] ( they can play [card]infernal cricket[/card] and chain 2 [card]narwhal[/card] ). For [card]ica-rusty[/card] , you must put on the deck 1 [card]ica-rusty's mechanical arm[/card] , i don't know where ......
I still prefer [card]captain all killikrew[/card] cause of her -1 spirit for opponent characters , usefull vs mages. I don't play [card]lil laddie[/card] cause he is weak and not strong enough ( we really need a good pirate marauder to replace him! ).
This deck maybe seem strange and weak but believe me ...... it's AMAZING.
This is not a for fun deck , this is really strong and can be competitive as well.
The only problem i saw in this deck is only one : if you get a bad hand ( a really bad hand ) , captain can't play nothing ( no problem with [card]ica-rusty[/card] and [card]foam giant[/card] i think ).
But if you can play 2 [card]Jolly Roger[/card] you'll be very happy
[card]Nawhal[/card] it's a great card and thanks to [card]conquer or perish[/card] you can hit two times or 3 if you have an other [card]Narwhal[/card] on you character , killing 2 or 3 oppenent characters in a row .....
You will have problems with high defense ( like kotoba warriors ) , but maybe you can win using [card]scroll of immobility[/card] .
At the end , if you have a 1 vs 1 battle with the only two remeaning characters still alive in battle , you can use [card]infernal cricket[/card] + [card]the last hope[/card] ( 11 direct damage ..... ) to still think to win at the points.
And , if you have a 1 character and the oppenent have still 2 , if your character have a [card]narwhal[/card] you can kill the non-fighting opponent character and kill the fighting opponent character with the combo said before.
so , let's take a look to the pirate marauders player :

With this deck i won versus ( full competitive deck ) : witchblade , eclipse nomad , top noz mage ( in that case , [card]pilkim[/card] - [card]erevent[/card] - [card]prophet[/card] ) and many others.
So , as you can see , it's not weak.

...Bad Choices:
- Non-marauders - Captain Al'Killicrew is worthless in this deck - replace her.
- Briscar - not as good as Lil Laddie. Doesn't offer anything to the strategy of a deck based around Narwhal.
...Good Choices:
- Lil Laddie - pirate marauder = gemineye bonus
- Ardranis - pirate marauder = gemineye bonus & mage = Implosion/Collison. Lil Laddie is still probably a better choice.Other cards...
...Bad Choices:
- Assassination - Doesn't belong in this deck
- Cutlass - another card that doesn't quite fit the purpose of this deck
...Good Choices:
- [card]Collision[/card] - great for softening and finishing.
- [card]Implosion[/card] - high defense opponents are tough to kill with this deck, and Infernal Cricket doesn't always do the job. Gemineye can kill an equipped kotoba in 1 turn with Infernal Cricket -> Implosion.
- [card]Escaping Death[/card] - screws alot of decks
i think you made a different deck , my deck is only the one i think is better for my style but you can play what you want
You can use ica-rusty or foam giant to replace the captain , cause they can play infernal cricket and narwhal. Collision and implosion are only playable on gemineye and ardranis have too low attack to use narwhal. You can't play only nawhal , that's why assassination + cutlass is a fine way to do a lot of damage ( maybe oneshot with some jolly roger at the start , it depend of course ). Also , i put cutlass for the captain so she can play some card ( and make some damage to kill after with nawhal for example ).
I also tryed escaping death , it's a good card , but i was not good with it.
I suggest you to try this version and change what you want for your style
But for now i play well with this deck ( and i played this deck a lot , like 150 matchs with a good rate of wins ).
I really think we need one good pirate marauder , briscar and lil laddie are horrible in my opinion.
They are not bad choices , they are different points of view

Yes that's a decent idea, but you'll need It is Time and/or Skyward boots for Fog Hydra to function at full power.

First point:
[card]Scroll of Immobility[/card] have no use for the [card]Narwhal[/card] player.
For High Defense, [card]Implosion[/card] is the best option.
Second:
I found out that Captain has too low options in the deck. Basically, [card]Jolly Roger[/card] and [card]Cutlass[/card].
This is the way I play this same strategia:

It's the purely Marauder type. I tried to use [card]Acrobatic dodge[/card] instead of Obesity, mainly because it give chain for anything, not just action cards... But in a overall, Obesity is more useful.

Scroll of Immobility is not used by the Narwhal player, but has two uses in the OP's deck:
- Chains into Item
- Helps against high defense opponents
If you can make sure your deck chains most stuff into Items, Jolly Roger can give you a very important upper hand against build up decks.
I can't see Weapon Kata being useful in this deck. It's useful in a Cutlass deck, imo.
Against low defense decks, the enemy team will be dead before Weapon Kata means anything.
[card]Acrobatic Dodge[/card] is a nice idea.
[card]A Warrior's Fury[/card] is nice to achieve a huge Narwhal hit, but you only manage it once and depend on having drawn the 3...

scroll + cutlass = opposing with 1 def (able to do with both 3 pgs)
basically with this deck you are not forced to use narwhal out of the combo

Oh definitely, why use the Hydra if you're not going to exploit his potentially devastating attack? It is Time into an Illumination to grab a Collision is just fun.

I did not wanted to make another thread about Pirate Marauders so I'm gonna stick with this one.
Idea: Main idea is a CHEAP, and I repeat it, CHEAP deck for around 20k. So no powder weapons as they are kinda expensive with such budget. Maybe later. I have no real money nor lot of options in my country for free feez to buy lots of packs=lots of cards=lots of money. I have to stick with free option via facebook and daily quest mainly.
Total cost is around 15k ([card]Weapon Dance[/card], [card]Smart Ass[/card] and [card]Assasination[/card] are considered 1200 - prize for Zil Starter and one [card]I hate mystics[/card] is free from tutorial).

I have [card[Life Devourer[/card] from tutorial but I'm using it in another deck.
Main idea was to get the trophy but in ended in the nice deck. Gemineye is obvious choice. Hook as well. I choose non powder as i'm not using powder weapons and because mages are more ofte than priests (it is about his marauder bonus). Briscar is better than lil laddie because i have no time to evolve him to lv 4 and I can exploit double healing from [card]The Pirate Code[/card] thanks to him and his order suits better (If i starts then Hook [1st], Briscar/Gemineye [2nd], Gemineye [6th] get their order; if opponent then Briscar/Gemineye [2nd and 4th]. With Lil Laddie I have sure only 2 no matter who starts).
The question is how to improve it with low costs (let's say I have 5-6k)? I looked like dozen of times at market and maybe I miss something? No powder weapons. I have no money for them now.

couple of thoughts/questions:
I thought that the powder version of Hook would be better, since the addtional +1 Attack when he's got Narwhal equipped helps smack out of combat characters, but I've seen more people use the anti mage version more....thoughts on which one is better?
Does Analyze make the deck as an anti-mage card? It'll make Dragon's Breath players cry....

Yea, I think the next expansion character for this deck should be a Pirates/Kotoba Warrior/Maurader. Weapons At Will a Narwal!
