Fixing: Lightning Rod

Lightning Rod at best adds 1 damage to Dance of the Thunder Snakes and 1 INITIAL damage to Static Charge for Pirate Mages only.  This is pathetic.

Suggested change or new card(s):
The first Lightning Magic damage each battle deals 1 direct damage. Chain.

How this will help:
Lightning Chain - Basically does 5,3,2 now and if the opponents are a mage or priest with 5+ spirit at least it does 1 damage to the one in battle.

Spear of the Thunder King - now does an additional damage if they have a weapon or armor.  (Can be used by Captain/Thunder King)

Dance of the Thunder Snakes - no big change other then second spell won't get buffed and the 1 damage is now direct bypassing spirit possibly.  However it does help Thunder King now.

Static Charge - no big change other then second spell won't get buffed and the 1 damage is now direct bypassing spirit possibly.  However it does help Thunder King now.  You can choose if this buffs already equipped Static Charges or not.

Lightning Bolts - Target in battle takes 1 additional direct damage when Thunder King uses this.  Not game breaking.

In other words all this does is allow you to do a max of one additional damage per battle round.  Making it worthwhile in a lightning based deck but not much in anything else.  Quite balanced.

***Other possible solution:
The first Lightning Magic damage each battle deals 1 additional Lightning Damage.  This damage can not be reduced by effects other then Spirit and Immunity. Chain.

This will make it more useful since it can bypass a little bit of the Joursin spam, Disappearance, Sevylath and the like.

Example:  Against Sevylath
Using Lightning Chain he takes 4 damage (4 initial + 1 for lighting rod - 1 for spirit - 0 for anti-damage ability due to rods protection).  Other characters would still be protected by Joursins and the like from the other two damages it does.

Can't make a profit off it?  Make a new card.
Battery(Item): Lightning damage can't be reduced by anything other then Spirit and Immunity.  Chain.
Lightning Pack(level 2: Combine Battery and Lightning Rod, Pirate Item): One of the above two suggested effects, keeping Lightning Rod the same.

I think the way damage is dealt should just be fixed once and for all to stop the bugs with damage and increases/reductions.

The way that some spells aren't considered spells "Shadow Idol fails vs Panic" and the way that some spell damage goes through while other doesn't, is a matter of coding.

Some of the game's coding needs a good review and revamp to make it correct and expandable at the same time.

That said, I think Lightning Rod should just function properly and affect all the Lightning damage from all effects that you own.

That means the initial and subsequent damage dealt by Static Charge, the initial and backlash damage dealt by Dance of the Thunder Snake and Sky Inhabitant, all hits from Lightning Chain, etc.
