- Noz'Dingard
- Solarian
- WitchBlade
Zayra Lv1: 2 Spirit; 4/4 Attack; 0 Defense; 14 Health
Attack +1 against Priests; +1 to Light Spell effects played by your Witchblades; Turns 4 and more: Non permanent Light spells played by "Zayra" return to your hand at the end of the fight.
Evolution: Zayra Lv1 + Spirit Edge = Zayra Lv2
Zayra Lv2: 2 Spirit; 4/4 Attack; 0 Defense; 15 Health
Attack +1 against Priests; +1 to Light Spell effects played by your Witchblades; "Zayra" deals an extra attack that equals her Spirit; Turns 4 and more: Non permanent Light spells played by "Zayra" return to your hand at the end of the fight.
Evolution: Zayra Lv2 + Spirit Edge + Dragon's Wrath = Zayra Lv3
Zayra Lv3:
Spirit Edge:
EDIT: Should be Permanent.
Effect only lasts until the end of the fight.
The text would be something like this:
Item Weapon One handed Sword - Marauder - Warrior
As this card activates and at the start of each fight, Min Attack +X until the end of the fight where X equals your Spirit.
Permanent.
Dragon's Wrath:
EDIT:
Dragon's Wrath would not affect AoE spells.
The text would be something like this:
Spell Draconic
One copy of this card per character only.
Damage dealt by your characters (non AoE) is increased by 1.
Permanent.
Appearance:
- Solarian with wild short black hair.
- Usual Solarian light/lack of clothing/armor, in blue and gold (Noz/WitchBlade style)
- Noz'Dingard style draconic tattoos.
- She's fond of telekinesis, and has 1(Lv2)/2(Lv3) spiritual blades (Soul Edges) floating beside her, representing her 1(Lv2)/2(Lv3) extra spirit-based physical attacks.
Story:
- Unusual affinity for magic makes her uncomfortable/unwelcome by the Solarians, and while in her exile, is guided by the Dragon to find Naya, who finds her suitable and teaches her the ways of the WitchBlade.
Strategy:
- Emphasis on Anazra's chain on Light spells and [card]Sword of Light[/card].
She's not a good character to kill someone in one turn.
Even her Turn Bonus indicates that.
For those wondering, it's not a cheesy 2 card wonder - you can either:
- Use 2 Sword of Light (1 attack of 9 and 2 attacks of 6), and the opponent will have full defense. Note: Melissandre achieves this with Quick Draw alone.
- Use 1 Sword of Light and 1 Magic Attack (1 attack of 7 and 2 attacks of 4), and the opponent will have 0 defense. Note: Melissandre will do better with Hypnotic Melody + Quickdraw.
Ways to bring out the full potential of this character would revolve around spirit boosting cards like Dragon Armor (item) or Prophet (character).

Can Zil be Elfine (BloodSword) or Hom'Chai (Faceless)? ^.^
She'd be an exile.

I think this version of my idea isn't cheesy or overpowered.
The only ways to permanently boost Spirit is with Prophet (+1) and items.
Any well built deck can counter items, negate their effect, or in the case of kotoba, beatdown or discard decks, it's a race to see who builds faster or kills first.

Notice that Soul Edge uses whatever Spirit bonus you have at the start of the fight.
Using Spirit boosting cards during combat won't affect your Attack this way.
Hors ligne
Still seems OP.
Dragon Knights ftw
Hors ligne
How come?
It gives you Min attack (not max)
It is based off your "out of combat spirit"
Several cards provide lasting penalties to spirit or remove permanents if you seek to boost the character's spirit too high.
I think Piercing Light should increases damage you deal but also damage you take by 1.

Not the sword but the Character. I already thought up of the sword (with less copyright infringment).
Dragon Knights ftw
Hors ligne
You understand that you can either use Magic Attack or a 2nd Sword of Light, and defense boosts on the opponent (or plain damage reductions) affect her the most.
Her low base attack also doesn't help.
Still, maybe the Base attack could be 3 or 2, that's not the point.
Permanent card removal is becoming more frequent, wich means Piercing Light isn't so much of a threat.

I'm talking about Zayra herself, so many things wrong.
1. Shouldn't be solarian
2. Maruader Bonus should give attack, Tsousai are exceptions.
3. Her +1 to light would make it so sword of light gives +2 spirit and attack allowing her to do 14 damage with just one throw in magic weapon and that kills alot of other character. If you double cast it she does 20 damage. (Also make piercing light effect+2 so who knows how much more damage she would do...)
4. Her turn order can just allow her to be pseudo-Ishsia where she can just spam sword of light to heal and do massive damage.
Your card is beyond OP...
Dragon Knights ftw

Why Solarian?
It's the background I found most fitting for her.
It's where her Light affinity comes from.
She's an exile because of her affinity with magic (even though it is Light).
She is wary of priests, by whom she was persecuted since her talent was discovered to be magical (rather than divine).
About her Spirit bonus, sure it could be Attack instead. I never noticed only Tsoutai had non-Attack bonuses as Marauders.
About Her damage:
Characters aren't just about what they can do, but also how easily it can be countered:
- Zayra is unable to one-shot anything in the first turn or two, but can easily be one-shotted.
- Something as common as 2 defense reduces her damage by 6 at all times.
- Desert Nomads (the most vulnerable) make great use of Solaris against her since she has no defense either.
- Magic Attack, the only real way to make her damage count against mid to high defense characters, doesn't let her use a second Sword of Light.
- Roots completely destroys her.
- Distraction and Counterspell becomes more useful. She can not chain from Magic Attack (only into), wich means the only way she can really avoid a Counterspell on her Magic Attack is by not using Sword of Light.
- Her damage can be reduced in pretty much anyway available in game, since it is not based on Printed Scores, unlike the Quick Draw.
She would simply bring more different kinds of counter-cards to the table, like pretty much every new deck/character does.
---
Even though permanent removal cards are more and more common, I still agree maybe Piercing Light is overkill as a Light spell, due to her ability.
Would be okay as a Draconian Spell.
---
EDIT: There, changed them in the original post.
Sword does not activate immediately.
Spell is Draconian and you can only have 1 copy per character, but affects all your characters.

Okay I just showed by herself she does alot of damage with just one spell now lets put her in a in a normal scenario.
Her + Anazra + Naya she would start with 2 spirit, 17 hp and 5 attack, add in a Blade of the Witch she could have between 6-8 attack now and will deal 4 magic damage, add in one Sword of Light which gives +2 spirit and +2 attack thanks to her +1 to light spell ability she would have 4 spirit 8-10 attack (also heal 3 HP). With just that she has dealt between 16-19 physical damage and 1-4 magical damage.
Or simply Sword Of light and Magic Attack she has 4 spirit 7 attack and will hit for 15 damage.
The character is still too strong.
Dragon Knights ftw

As opposed to having warrior Keizan in the group and use Melissandre + Hypnotic Melody + Quick Draw for 6/9 +6 +6 = 18/21?
Or against Solarians with Melissandre + Amber Dagger + Quick Draw = 18/21, plus 2 at the end of each of the opposing character's turns?
Zayra is a strong character in "some circumstances".
She fills a different role in a WitchBlade deck. Eglantyne and Moira are hard hitters. Zayra is multi-hitter.
Then you must account for counterability. Everything affects Zayra:
- Enemy Defense, Spirit penalties, Attack penalties, Perversion, Good Jorusien.
If you bring Blade of the Witch into the equation, enemy Spirit also counts.
Breaking her chains also destroys her: Dandy, Roots.
Elfine extra attacks, in the other hand, can only be reduced by Defense and effects that directly reduce damage (perversion, good jorusien), and even if you Root an Elfine, she can still do some damage with Quick Draw alone or Hypnotic Melody alone.
And if you want favorable mid game, think about 4th turn Silicat + Butterfly Collar (with The Claw and Earthspeaker alive) using Hypnotic Melody + Quick Draw = 7/10 +6 +6 +6 = 25/28.
I won't even get started on the Tsoutaï.
---
I'll say again: Please don't forget that as many characters/decks/castes give certain counters more use, so would this.
Counterspell should be more used.
All it takes is one Counterspell, and her damage is countered.
If you counterspell Magic Attack, she's screwed.
If you counterspell Sword of Light, she's screwed.
Kill Anazra and Zayra won't chain Sword of Light.

Good for me!
I'm glad even though you don't really post meaningful stuff most of the time, at least you have something useless to do
I'm sure they'd rather ban someone who mostly posts constructive criticism or thought out suggestions, than someone who constantly posts out of topic.

to this day I don't see what the big deal is with double posting and why people in forums get their panties in a twist over it, please explain?

Check Goscar posts.
He doesn't post much.
But when he does, about 90% chance it will be off-topic.
He ignores all the threads, until he finds someone posting without "forum etiquette" so that he can make a worthless post pointing it out.
---
And my "revival" of this topic was VERY relevant.
The powercreep is insane.
So now I ask if this character I suggested seems OP in light of all the new characters (even non-Legendary ones).
