Cursed cards could use a little spice.
New Cursed card suggestions at the end of the post.
So far the Cursed card ideology is like an addiction, you don't want to play just 1 of them (unless we're talking about [card]Cursed Bigblade[/card]) and that's cool.
It's worth noting that:
- They are interdependent, wich means you need 2 or more stackable Cursed items in the deck to make them worth the penalty of the first.
- AND in sufficient quantity to have a decent chance to draw them
- AND hope to draw stackable Cursed cards.
- They are items, the later you get them in play the more useless they become.
This means if you get Cursed Bigblade (the best of them) on a character's 2nd or 3rd battle, said character may not live to benefit from it, because he takes the 3 damage when it activates - before he can make use of the +5 attack.
Suggested Changes:
- [card]Cursed Armor[/card] - Activates immediately if your character already has 1 Cursed item (including the one this chains from).
- [card]Cursed Blades of Yses[/card] - Activates immediately if your character already has 1 Cursed item (including the one this chains from).
- [card]Cursed Bigblade[/card] - Activates immediately if your character already has 2 Cursed items (including the one this chains from).
Additions:
- Cursed Shadows - Shadow Spell that deals 3 direct damage to you (unless u got a cursed item) and is attached to the opponent. When played and at the start of every fight, deals 1 direct damage to the character it is attached to, plus an additional 1 direct damage to each character in combat that does not play a Cursed card. Permanent.
- Cursed Ring - Item Jewel. +1 Defense. Deals 3 direct damage to you (unless u got an active cursed item). Chain: Cursed card.
- Cursed Soul - Theurgy Faith Spell that deals 3 direct damage to you (unless u got a cursed item). At the start of each fight, restores 2 health if you play a Cursed Card. Permanent.
- Cursed Doom - Theurgy Destiny that deals 3 direct damage to you (unless u got a cursed item) and attaches to the opponent. Lasts 2 fights. Deals 6 magic damage when it leaves play. Permanent.
Counters:
- Removing your opponent's Cursed items is a way to weaken and at the same damage him since he'll take 3 damage on any subsequent other Cursed cards he plays.

Seems interesting to me, and I think these cards are going to come soon to the game, a deck of this theme would be really great since you must always have a cursed item attached to you, and since having a counter item card is common in a deck you must make yourself sure that you dont find yourself stripteased if you dont want to take damage from your woun cards

Ofcourse, I gave a few ideas.
What if Cursed cards had an effect that causes item removal effects to deal damage to you rather than removing the items?
In some RPGs, Cursed gear can't be removed from your character except through the help of some priest and whatnot (at least in Shining series from Sega)

after so long, they finally did something about the cursed items.
how about expanding the cursed cards from items to spells, actions, pets and theurgies too?
