There need to be anti-discard cards. Every CCG I've played that doesn't reign in discard decks ends up losing players because discard just isn't fun to play against. When all you see are discard decks at the high end, it removes the incentive to get new cards, etc.
So, to that end:
Treacherous Mirror
Jewel
Level 1
If the opposing character causes you to discard any cards, they discard an equal number.
Level 2
If any opposing characters cause you to discard any cards, they discard an equal number.
I hate the Circus
Attack +1
If this card is discarded from your deck or hand by an opposing card, all cards in your discard are placed back in your deck. You may not choose this card to discard if there are any other choices.
Card Box
Craftsman Item
Attach this card to a character. Any time cards are discarded by opposing cards, they go in the Card Box. If there are no cards left in the controlling player's deck, they may instead draw cards from the Card Box.
This Will Hurt You....
Attack +1
If you are forced to discard any cards this turn, the opposing character suffers 1 direct damage for each card discarded.
Chain: More Than Me
More Than Me.
Defense +1
If you are forced to discard any cards this turn, you heal 1 point of damage for each card discarded.
Long Term Investment
Discard X cards from your hand. Randomly add twice as many cards from your discard to your deck.
Compensation
If an opposing card reduces your attack, add one card from your discard to your deck for each point lost (Maximum of 3).
Spiked Card Box
Craftsman Item
Attach this card to a character. That character immediately suffers 2 direct damage. When opposing cards would force you discard one or more cards, do not discard any cards. The character with Spiked Card Box attached takes 2 direct damage.
Locked Card Box
Craftsman Item
Level 1
When an opposing card causes you to discard one or more cards, you discard one less. You only draw one card at the end of your turn.
Level 2
When an opposing card causes you discard one or more cards, you discard half as many (rounded down). You only draw one card at the end of your turn.
Level 3
When an opposing card causes you discard one or more cards, you discard half as many (rounded down). Both players only draw one card at the end of their turns.

I like it all. I personally believe a few cards like that should be released over time.
Teacher: Wake up Calvin! This is Geography class! In what state do you live in?
Calvin: Denial!
Teacher: I can't argue with that...

I really like it!!!!!!!!!

I liked these ones... maybe they could have a few "SELF DISCARD" effect like the spiked box... it would give the card more versatility than just F*ck up a discard deck... but I really like the Idea... we need something like this
they have come... raise your weapons... choose your side...

Feerik can simply add alot of cards with special effects that only trigger when they leave play, and cards that revolve around self-discard.
That said, I like most ideas shared.

I like Nurvus' idea for a solution; a set of cards that when they go to the graveyard for any reason your characters gain stats until the end of next battle. Examples:
Dizzy Temple Smack (As in the sides of your forehead)
Action
Attack +1
When this card is in the discard pile for any reason remove it from the game at the end of battle.
When this card is removed from the game opponent characters take 1 direct damage.
Potion of Morale
Item Potion
Heal 1 damage.
When this card is in the discard pile for any reason remove it from the game at the end of battle.
When this card is removed from the game your characters gain +2 spirit and all cards that force non-random discards from the hand are ignored until the end of next battle.
Life Force Drain
Spell
Deal 1 direct damage.
When this card is in the discard pile for any reason remove it from the game at the end of battle.
When this card is removed from the game your characters gain +2 attack until the end of next battle.
Pocket Trap
Item Clothes
Attack +1/+0 Chain: Craftsman card
This card can not be discarded during the discard phase.
When this card is in the discard pile for any reason remove it from the game at the end of battle.
When this card is removed from the game if you have a female craftsman alive opponent removes 3 cards from their hand from the game.
When this card is removed from the game if you have a male craftsman alive opponent can't reduce damage or lower your attack next battle.
