This caste is very weak currently:
1) Stats are poor - current stats disables usage of high end spirit-based caster spells and inadaquent to be strong melee/tank.
2) Slow start up: blades cannot be duelwield, weak initially and require ice coffins to boost at later turns. The 4 magic damage is very situational and barely compensates for the weak melee attacks for one turn.
3) Heavy interdependence: in order to yield the full benefits of the blades (and have 3 witchblades to reach 3/3 bonus as it cannot be duelwield), going 2 lv2 sisters + lv3 Anazra looks good on paper but infact they are very weak individually. The other option is to go lv3 merged sisters (imho this is worst than the 2 sisters separately) and then go dragon wit + other cards with Anazra, which should probably be Helena, and build a more offensive maurader based line up. The alternative, is to go mage on the third slot. However, once again, sadly, both options are difficult as the base stats are relatively weak at the witchblades final evolutions versus other castes.
Can we therefore please:
1) Get a 3rd decent witchblade so we don't need to be stuck with two lv2s, an underperforming lv3 or run a hybrid deck for characters that really can't be good casters/melee/tanks?
2) Add in more non-spirit based caster spells, like Implosion/Burn in Hell/Arcadium, for them to use?
3) Add in a special ability for them? (e.g. make them anti-discarding or ability to redirect/redistribute magic damage or steal magic buffs, since they ARE witchblades which implies they can manipulate magic somewhat, making them more like spell breakers)

Playing witchblades myself, and they are great, just add RoD to every normal attack, or magic attack for total ignoring defence. Use AOE spells, and blade is just a nice add on, Ice shield is the key card.
Try using Anazra - fully leveled eglantine and moira - anriena or prophet (Zaghal lv 4 also fits). This deck is great with ice walls and stuff.
Bonus - new event card is great for witchblades, and you can do event with 2 witchblades and any mercenary priest (tested).

I'd like to see a 3rd "max WitchBlade", but currently I have been playing with Bomzar + Anazra + Eglantyne & Moira.
Bomzar is Mage-Warrior and is a Golem (can equip any item).
The only spells he can't use are Ice Shield and Ice Coffin.
He can use the [card]Sword of Light[/card], [card]Magic Attack[/card] and [card]Ice Barrier[/card], wich are good contenders to the deck, as well as [card]Insect Swarm[/card] or [card]Freeze[/card] if you think is worth it.
You are probably underestimating the benefits of having [card]Eglantyne and Moira[/card] - while I still think it should be given 1 extra defense at least, the combined sisters offer different strategies than the separate sisters.
What you lose:
+1 attack and chain on Light spells on your 3rd character
Access to WitchBlade spells on your 3rd character
What you win:
[card]Eglantyne and Moira[/card] has some advantages from being Mage-Warrior-Marauder, since it causes Blade of the Witch to activate instantly AND chain.
The combined sisters are relatively better than each of the separate sisters. Loses 2 defense but gains on the rest, but specially due to its increased Blade of the Witch synergy.
- A WitchBlade deck with Bomzar is more item oriented, lets you run fully powered Blade of the Witch.
- A WitchBlade deck with 3 witchblades depends on Anazra being alive, and is prone to strategies that overlook defense, like Crow, Mage or Nature-DoubleStrike (Melissandre, Ydiane), but is more open to different strategies.
- A WitchBlade deck with a Mage is more non-WitchBlade-spell oriented.
- A WitchBlade deck with a non-Mage (likely a Dragon Guemelite Dragon Knight) is draconian spell oriented.
