Yeah [card]Naginata[/card] is more defensive, [card]Tantadian Spear[/card] or [card]Nemaria's trident[/card] is more offensive.
If he was Runic character it'd probably be overpowered with Nemaria's Trident, but since he isn't, it's acceptable.
At best he gets +8 Attack on Turn 1, causing 16/18 Attack.
