[card]premonition[/card] seems like a decent rare esp. for current sub 4k price range. The ability to find that essential card and "re-roll" your hand seems worth the potential dead space to me. Unfortunately, its unique and the only mental guemelite right now is the pyschurgist but I think it could be a good fit in circus anyway and, conversely, can help mages defend against [card]treacherous[/card] and other discard. Either way, I've invested in a few in the hopes the price will at least double eventually. Am I looking at its potential with rose-colored glasses or should I sell em before they drop more. Has anyone been using it with any success? Thoughts?

I knew this was a good card when I first saw it. In Magic, the ability to sift like that gives you huge card advantage. It can allow you to get to your silver bullet for your opponent, or just an all around powerful card to wreck them.

Does it make you draw until you have 9 cards? If that sort of sifting was available, then that's just crazy. If you draw until you have 9, you basically get to look at almost half of your starting deck, and pick the best card.

i think its a great card for pure mages to play with the council's banner.
I.e, the phytia plays premonition+ banner for a higher chance to get crystal storm. u draw until u get 7, choose crystal storm ( the others go back to the deck) and banner plays the storm, so that your premonition is not a 'dead' card per say

There is a reason why card-shifting/"Tutor" cards are powerful in Magic and that is dealing with a 60-card deck size. You can get the card you want rather than rely on random luck.

With a 20-card deck size, that is an even powerful effect. I'm actually glad that it is unique

With Ishaïa you draw till you have 8 cards in hand and you keep 2.

if this card is played at the end of a chain then in reality your looking at 4 new cards + the 3 you already had in hand. i like this card because it can really just be a reset button for a bad draw you have rather than having to wait or discard cards and hope for the best

the only downside i see is if you like the 3 other cards in your hand when you use it and don't want to see them go lol.
