Lord Galmara

8HULIiyi.png

I'm not asking for a deck to be built for me, but I do want to know what kind of deck he would be viable in? Other than being able to cast fire spells, and having an ok attack value, especially for a Noz character, what else makes him good?! I like him, but is he "play worthy"?

Re : Lord Galmara

As a Fire Guemelite, he can play:
- [card]Rain of Death[/card]
- [card]Burn in Hell[/card]
- That AoE card I forget the name
- [card]Smoked Arrow[/card]

As a Noz Fire Guemelite, he can play:
- [card]Dragon Breath[/card]

As a Kotoba Fire Guemelite, he can play:
- [card]Fight Fire with Fire[/card]

As a Noz Warrior, he can play:
- [card]Dragon's Wit[/card] -> Chaining into virtually anything, including [card]In The Name of the Dragon[/card] to grab [card]Crystal Storm[/card] from the Discard Pile, even though I haven't tested it.
- [card]Crystal Shelf[/card], [card]Dragon Armor[/card].
- [card]Burning[/card]

As a Kotoba warrior, he can play:
- [card]Kensensei[/card]
- [card]Kusanagi[/card] (full power)
----

A deck for him? Kotoba Courtesan Mix of sorts.

He get Spirit and Defense from [card]Overwhelming Victory[/card].
Both give him Protecting and you can deal good damage with Fire Spells.
Not to forget that he can play [card]The Dragon's breath[/card].

He is in good combination with [card]Councilor Ishaia[/card] and [card]Doyen Verace-Councilor[/card].
Because all 3 are very bulky and can play all fundamental cards.

Sure you can play [card]Marlok the Repentant[/card] with the two other guys but he will reduce the spirit of your team.
In the end you gain only 1 spirit for [card]The Dragon's breath[/card] and Marlok has not this high defense and he gain no defense from [card]Overwhelming Victory[/card].

Downside of Lord Galmara is that he can t chain spells or only with [card]Councilor's Outfit[/card] but he can attack after a damage spell

Re : Lord Galmara

I've considered two principal decks for him.

One with the councilors, Overwhelming Victory, Dragon's breath, Manipulation, RoD, etc.

The other with Yu ling and Nashi, with Randori, RoD, and Kotoba warrior actions, you can also play Dragon's breath with that one.

Re : Lord Galmara

I thought Dragon's Breath was the sum of the spirit of your noz mages?

And thank yall so much for the help! Ill compile a deck based on all of this and see how it does. Would a Court deck with Gal in it be viable for elo though?

Oh, you're right. It's only the sum of your noz caracters' spirit. Oh well.

And I have no idea how good it actually is. On paper it looks great.
Let us know when it's ready ^^ I'll want to fight you.

If you use Overwhelming Victory, Dragon's Breath is a good card, because all your characters will gain +1 Spirit from each Overwhelming Victory.

You just won't get first turn kills very easily.

Yeah, dragon's breath is really good with Overwhelming Victory when you're playing with the councillors. My comment was refering to the Yu ling, Nashi, and gamalra line-up, I said you could still use dragon's breath with that one but then learned that it wouldn't count Yu ling and Nashi's spirit.

You wouldn't count Gal's spirit either cause he isn't a mage... which sucks!!

Translation.. not play worthy

No offense but he's quite difficult to synergyze with most characters

Are you sure about that? On the french version of the card it doesn't say anything about only counting spirit form mage characters.

Re : Lord Galmara

If breath count's galmarra spirit as well, I think a deck with Galmarra + Ishaia + Councellor would be best otion..

From there you play Victories + Manipulations in order to add spirit and from turn 4 on you start using RoD + Dragon's Breath.

You could try a diferent aproach with Dragon Wits + Armor invocation And other key cards that could surprise ***bip*** adversarie if used with dragon wits, like Quimera, Divine Light..

But best bet would be trying to mass the overwelming victories and after that nuke ***bip*** adversarie...

Re : Lord Galmara

Galmara deals surprinsingly well with Kimiko and Oogoe (noz way). Overwhelming victory and nuke them all with fireball/rain of death...
He's also quite good when playing in a more offensive way. If you play him with Bomzar (i know this char isn't played usually.) and Aerouant , you can have very nice result, except in competitive play.
It's a shame but only with councelors he's able to do some good things. Otherwise he's always overshadowed by another char.
(Also a troll deck were running around with him Alishk and Ishaia. Then you spam fire spell and buff Galmara with Dragon's Wit and your favorite boost card. Then you could deal some massive damage and was quite funny to play! Till Demon hunter come into the fray and destroy this troll deck. You can still try it now, it might work)

PS: Sorry for my rather poor english.

Well here the english version of the card. Clearly says your living Noz mages' spirit total. If it didn't have this "mage" restriction Gal, Ish, and Doyen would be an amazing trio!!

Oh, I see. Well, there's no mention of that on the french card. You'll have to test it!

Re : Lord Galmara

I tried The Dragon's Breath with Galmara alone (without mage i mean) and it dealt 2 damages. So , atleast in french , it works.

Re : Lord Galmara

Just tested The Dragon's Breath with Gal, Oogoe Kage (noz), and Angelica! Dragon's breath used all of my characters spirit scores!! So I guess someone needs to change the text on [card]The Dragon's Breath[/card] to reflect that it does not just count your mage's spirit but all of your Noz character's spirit score!!

Lord Gal is one of my favs... Along with Alishk (Draconian vers.) and Doyen. But lord Gal both Noz and Zil versions are awesome! Just wish the Noz version had 1 more defense.

lol. well I just remember an anime I watched years ago where one of the villians power was a butterfly made of floating gun powder with some sort of fuse and explodes on contact or when detonated. Seems better as another type of pirate bomb tongue
