New Card Stat - Greater (vs AoE)

This is something that was discussed in another thread, and I wanted to make a dedicated thread about it.

Right now, AoE spells have 2 downsides:
- Can't be chained
- Don't benefit from most bonuses to spell effects/damage

But this makes some cards too good or too weak...
- [card]Lightning Chain[/card] for example - it's too strong if you let it get most bonuses and chain; but it's also too weak as it is - neither chaining nor getting bonuses.

- If [card]Living Nature[/card] didn't allow chains (neither into nor from), it wouldn't be so overpowered.
- If [card]Ice Barrier[/card] didn't benefit from Ishaia's ability, Ishaia wouldn't be so overpowered.

So what I propose is a distinction between AoE and non-chainable.

Suggested Category Changes
(Area of Effect (AoE)) - A category related to cards that affect multiple or all enemies, friends or both.
- Doesn't benefit from spell effect/damage bonuses that state "Non AoE"
- Can Chain

Examples of AoE Cards:
[card]Lightning Chain[/card] - You'd be able to Chain it.
[card]Ice Barrier[/card] - No longer overpowered with Ishaia.
[card]Philosophical Debate[/card] - No longer bugged with Ishaia.
[card]Shadow Master[/card] - You'd be able to Chain it.
---
(Greater) - A category related to cards that are deemed too powerful to be chained into or from.
- Cannot Chain
- Benefits from spell effect/damage bonuses that state "Non AoE"

Examples of Greater Cards:
[card]Living Nature[/card] - No longer Chain'able
---
(Greater Area of Effect (AoE)) -  A category related to AoE spells that are deemed too powerfulto be chained into or from.
- Cannot chain
- Doesn't benefit from most spell effect/damage bonuses

Examples of Greater AoE Cards:
[card]Lightning Bolts[/card] (Lv3) - Remains as it is, but classified as Greater AoE
[card]Collision[/card] - Remains as it is, but classified as Greater AoE
[card]Crystal Storm[/card] - Remains as it is, but classified as Greater AoE

---
Result
The point of this suggestion is that there isn't a sweet spot right now.

Ice Barrier is too strong getting bonuses, as Ishaia can attest, but at the same would be too unfair if it didn't get bonuses nor chain; or got banned.

Therefore just losing the bonuses would make sense.

This would give Feerik more tools to fine tune cards.

Once more, I agree with your idea.

Really, some cards are too OP to be chained, as you stated, Living Nature. While others are so bad weak and cannot be chained.

well Philosophical Debate is useless one played by Ishaia, i tried it and the result was -1 spirit from the magic, then +1 from her effect = 0 spirit will be reduce

My suggestion fixes that.
If it is made AoE (but can still be chained), it means Ishaia ability won't modify it, thus allowing Ishaia to use it.

Ice Barrier, if tagged as AoE, would still be chainable, and unnaffected by Ishaia.

+1

And there are plenty of ideas to do it, and some have different ways to do it like Card Stat Rank vs Elite.

I get sad the feedback on all his effort is not that frequent.
