Hello,

Here's a new subject to debate. Please read carefully and respect the rules which are stated below.
The subject is open but there is a time limit : it will close on Monday, August 22 at 10 AM (French Time)

Take your time, think of questions, and please don't post after you have just read this message.  Give yourself at least 30 minutes, an hour, or even a day to respond.  Please be as concise as possible, so, the team and I can enjoy all your comments.

This week I would like to discuss the Eredan events.

Please only post comments that are constructive.

All comments that are not serious, and/or are not related to the debate will be deleted:  the aim here is to create a serious discussion on a valid subject.

Another thing you must understand is that we will not be able to answer everyone's questions or comments. But you're invited to develop as many as you would like to:

- Have you already participated in an event, if yes which one(s) ?

- Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?

- Which event was your favorite on Eredan?

- Which event did you not like?

- Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?

- Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?

Please don't hesitate to go a little further with these questions and really express your feelings about the guild.  As a little reminder please respect all the rules.

-Yes, the majority of them up until recently.

-None, they are all relatively the same.

-With no favorite you would think I hated them all. Tedious as they become they aren't all bad.

-No, you milk your customers with randomly scheduled events giving no warning and placing them the day after your highest sales day. Its downright disrespectful and clearly shows your company cares more about the money than its customers and community. Its a shame.

-Regarding events, they are the one thing you do well other than my above statement. There are far greater issues you should be addressing.

I tried to keep it short and to the point. Should I need to go on I will.

Re : New Debate!

- Have you already participated in an event, if yes which one(s) ?

I have, the Winter Championship and the Alchemy thingy.

- Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?

The alchemy event hands down. It was the perfect kind of event -> Something for non-paying players, somethign exclusive for paying players, and a way to speed things up for paying players who didn't want to grind. The only thing lacking was a Tournament.

- Which event was your favorite on Eredan?

Again I say the alchemy event.

- Which event did you not like?

Proelior Magus tournament. Little incentive for paying players to buy boosters for it, almost nothing for non-paying players, and bad logistics.

- Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?

No. Advance warning of maybe a week or two would be nice especially for those of us who cannot play on a regular basis.

- Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?

None that I haven't already mentioned.

Lady Jane can kick your ass.

Re : New Debate!

- Have you already participated in an event, if yes which one(s) ?

Every single one since the winter tournament.

- Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?

The Man Hunt. With a lot of effort possible to complete without paying.

- Which event was your favorite on Eredan?

The Winter Championship was a lot of fun, loved the tournament.

- Which event did you not like?

The Epic challenge of the Proelior Magus!
Ridiculous amount of money necessary.

- Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?

I liked it when it was based on special holidays, nowadays it feels way too random.

- Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?

Dont force players to buy more than 3 Basic Boosters. Better dont force people to buy boosters at all.

Re : New Debate!

- Have you already participated in an event, if yes which one(s) ?

Yes, the alchemy thing, last year's magus championship (the one using only level 1 characters and 1 of each card), the advent calendar and the halloween tourney.

- Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?

Alchemy

- Which event was your favorite on Eredan?

Alchemy

- Which event did you not like?

The magus tourney, the restrictions made it boring

- Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?

I would like more events

- Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?

The "Unique" cards you get through events should be attainable in some other way after the event, maybe in the store for some feez or something like that. I missed some events and I find myself unable to get some really good cards and that puts me at a disadvantage in competitive play.

Re : New Debate!

- Have you already participated in an event, if yes which one(s) ?

Saint Patric, The easter event, Ishaia Murder, Man Hunt and the Alchemy

- Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?

The Alchemy one, prize for both free playing and for paying players, not expensive, good prizes and fun for the new people to use some strong cards for a time, beside it allowed me to get near 20k exp with the number of trophies trophy.

- Which event was your favorite on Eredan?

  Alchemy

- Which event did you not like?

The Epic challenge of the Proelior Magus! - Extremely expensive, not so good rewards and dificult to acomplish

- Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?

Horrible. Always without warning and right after releases, promotions and other things that led players to spend. Ill borrow a lane from Glasher: "Its downright disrespectful and clearly shows your company cares more about the money than its customers and community. Its a shame."

- Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?

At least a week warning for events that require any significant amount of spending. And instead of trowing some random event sould work on fixing many of the game bugs.

All after St. Patricks Day event.

- Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?
Manhunt had the most use. 4 rare cards for free, if u are a busy player.

- Which event was your favorite on Eredan?
I really liked to search for Ishaias murder, becuase it revealed new pieces of the storyline.

- Which event did you not like?
I not liked the alchemy event, because it was a lot of "work" and the both reward cards right now are not really useful until now.

- Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?
Yes, 1 big event per month in average is great and affordable for everybody if you see eredan as hobby and not only as game.

- Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?
Personally i would like to see events with a strong relation to the storyline. I would really appreciate that, because there are so many open questions about many charakters.

Excuse my english, if u dont understand something. wink Its not my native language.

Most of them.

Two questions, one answer: Possibly the Man Hunt - Pirate event where you had to hunt for [card]Dhan[/card].

amber a écrit :

Every event that requires you to make purchases in order to get its rewards.

It's okay if those that buy get an easier time or perhaps an extra reward or two, but I find it silly to have events that require purchase to participate.
The Man Hunt event required you to work alot harder if you wanted to open all chests without purchasing boosters, but you -could- get there with enough effort.

amber a écrit :

- Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?

Much like Glasher pointed out, I find it disrespectful to place events (that require items found in boosters) right after the release of new cards that players rush to buy without any sort of compensation.

amber a écrit :

2 Suggestions
#1 - Make ALL events able to be completed by free players (no purchases required) BUT much easier if you buy boosters.
To clarify, make it possible to obtain all rewards without buying any boosters, but unless you do buy boosters, it is hard/time consuming to complete the event.

#2 - Have more respect for the investment of players.
How? Here is a simple group of changes in the game that will make it so.
Just like I read well and thought this out, I ask that you to read this reply well:
- Keep track of how many boosters of each kind a player has bought the current week, so far.
- When you release an event that provides key items in boosters, retroactively award the player with the number of items corresponding to the number of boosters he has already bought THAT WEEK.

This way players will finally feel somewhat respected and in turn will respect you back.
Trust me, it will be worth it.

Re : New Debate!

Have you already participated in an event, if yes which one(s) ?
- The Egg Hunt, Man Hunt, and Alchemy Events.

Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?
- The Alchemy. Both free and paying customers can participate on this one.

Which event was your favorite on Eredan?
- The Egg Hunt. You can actually finish this event w/o buying a single booster. Also the Manhunt since you can get rare cards for free. But its a total grindfest and I doubt anyone completed it w/o buying boosters or working w/ other players.

Which event did you not like?
- The Magus Event. After this one I've lost faith in Feerik and stopped supporting them financially as I used to. Its a money sucking event that's not even enjoyable. Hope they stop doing this kind of $hit.

Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?
- Well I don't even care when they'll release an event I'm just hoping they do it at least once a month since there's nothing much to do here in this game.

Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?
- Make events that both free and paying customers can participate in and enjoy. Like make buying boosters grant you some advantage in the event but isn't required to finish it or something like that.

On the side note maybe aside from discussing events why don't we focus more on improving this game that doesn't involved money. Like fixing bugs that are months old, other tourneys that doesn't require players to be rich to win, powercreep, etc. You know the more relevant ones.

Re : New Debate!

I forgot to add that cards received during any event should be much more worthwhile. All that trouble for artaban and I have never once ran into him in any deck that wasn't just "evoing" him.

If I do choose to invest in an event I should not only be rewarded with a unique card but one worth the effort.

Re : New Debate!

I know it's past time for posting on this but I'm gonna do it anyways since I've done all the events that I have seen so far:

Have you already participated in an event, if yes which one(s) ?
St. Patrick's Day, The Egg Hunt, Man Hunt, Alchemy, Pokeredan, Ishaia Murder, Proelior Magus, Sea Scrolls(for Artiban), Valentines

Which one in your opinion was the best event in the trading card game ?
This one is tough.  As far as playing the event I loved Proelior Magus, it was silly and the items/spell can still be used, not so much just wasting space in my collection.  As far as rewarding and general insanity I'd have to go for Alchemy.  As for story and interest(which I hold top), Man Hunt.  Pokeredan was great because it didn't require you to buy at all to get the best stuff.  You just needed to play 200+ games(not counting the title).  They were all decent events.

Which event was your favorite on Eredan?
Man Hunt I think if I had to choose was my favorite even though I don't know if I'll ever figure a good way to use Dhan, but the Suggested Itinerary is priceless.

Which event did you not like?
Ishaia Murder, while a great concept didn't pan out too well.  Rather then a fun little mystery to solve I had to bash my head several times and eventually cheat reading the forums to figure out how to do some of the clues.  I think if we had longer to do it and maybe tier it out, one clue a week and the first X people that do it get a special reward would have worked better and been a bit more a mystery.  Too short on time to enjoy it, just grind to accomplish it.

Do you like the rythme (timing) of the special events?
I think longer events are better.  I will slightly agree the timing is a bit harsh sometimes, BUT really I've gotten to know that this kinda stuff happens so to save my buying for events and discount days rather then scramble after every new card I may or may not get in packs.

Do you have any comments or suggestions that you would like us to know about concerning the events?
You've got rich people and people that can hardly afford food playing your game and everyone in-between.  If you truely want to be THE ALL STAR hit card game, you need to cater to them all, cause even people that can't afford much still can get others into the game if they like it.  All the events should be completable realistically by anyone who has the time to play enough, just like the trophies(Though last weeks was just cruel and mean).  For those that don't have the time, I do like that buying packs can help you "cut to the chase", but should never be required (like Life in Alchemy).

Also don't be afraid to bring back events and add a little more so that people get another chance to get what they missed(Yes, I'm saying this even as I have yet to miss something, well except Bluff) and for those that have these "worthless" things in their inventory can reuse them and get something more each time.  (Love to do another round of Pokeredan)

Do watch your timeliness on where you put your sales so that an event isn't right after them.  They should be at a midpoint between events or near the tail end if anything to get people to maybe get farther at the last second even if they already gave up.

Lastly make sure event cards are worth getting.  I've found use for quite a few of them... but there are several that are left a bit wanting.  Artiban might be good if you give him some actual good defense Earth Spells to keep him alive.  He's not a Hom'chi or Golem so he doesn't even work all that well with them.  Dhan has near the same issue, with not much good Thergy mercs can use and the fact he fails 1/3 of it makes him harder to work with.  Crown of Flowers is fairly tame too, unlike the female version it's worthless if they don't have females, it would be nice if it gave an hp and chained.  Mekarmor should chain like Backpack since it does nothing at first.  These are decent cards but I'm not sure their truely event worthy.

[Edit] Also can you add a toggle into collection so you don't see currently unusable event cards?  I'm tried of seeing 52 playing cards, Fire, Scroll Pouches and Pints and a Invocation Scroll.

Re : New Debate!

Amber,

What of whats been stated above has been passed along to who needs to hear it? What comments, actions, or feedback have you received from your end?

It is wonderful to have threads such as these however, so many of them go unnoticed by feerik due to the lack of response from anyone. I do not mean to tell you how to do your job, or how they should do theirs as well, but as customers and part of the community we deserve feedback from your(Feeriks) end?

So what information can you give us on how our thoughts on events are going to impact future events?
