a pol for banning cards

how about a weekly pol with like 15 cards that feerik can decide to put in the poll... and the players decide which gets banned... lets say the first 4-5 cards get banned

why it should be 4-5 cards being banned?
cause if it was less there was no sense in banning anything at all... and if it was more it could lead to all type of decks being handicapped at the same time.

why should there be such a huge list for the ppl to decide from?
i think the more cards are there the better it is. the frequent elo players will certainly get annoyed by one or two... maybe more cards in a week playing in elo... this way they can take them out.

why should there be such a system?
i think it will create a certain feeling of being involved in the process. this feeling creates motivation and is a good indication of which type of deck is liked/disliked. in my honest opinion i think it is more fair then the arbitrariness of the ppl who are banning the cards at the moment.

couldnt this lead to the same problem we have now?
of course it may happen that the same cards get banned over and over again, but i think that it is easier to bow your head to the will of the mass then to the will of a few.

this is just an idea because i m not happy with the system as it is now. (i m not happy over all, not just because they are banning one of the decks i play for 4 weeks now)

Re : a pol for banning cards

Pointless.

A few results:
1 - players create a zillion accounts to vote in a way that frees their favorite card(s)
2 - the poll runs fairly and the current banned cards remain banned
3 - the poll runs fairly and the current banned cards become free

What do you think would happen if your precious little OP cards get unbanned?
Think you will finally be able to enjoy your favorite deck?

For situation 3 to happen, it means everyone would be playing the unbanned card decks.
Everyone always wants to play the OP deck, because it's OP.

You won't enjoy it, because most opponents leave, the others aren't a match.
Even if you enjoy -that-, my point is made below.

Rather than this incredibly biased suggestion, the only things that really need to be done are:
- Whatever cards Feerik thinks are OP enough to deserve banning, should ALL be banned.
- Keeping the OP cards banned until they're not OP.
- Fix balance

No matter what excuse you come up with, it is -not- okay to let OP cards run around, whether it's 1 week out of 3, or 1 out of 10, or whatever system you come up with to let them run wild for a while.
Certain combos are broken and that's why certain cards are Banned.

All I saw when Discard decks and Port decks were around was complaints about fairplay.

If the opponent wasn't a discard/port/ishaia deck, they'd quit at the sight of Circus characters (sometimes even just Zil), Ishaia or Klementine.

Everyone giving up.
In Elo, not even worth mentioning.

Discard Decks are 100% unbeatable against nearly all build up decks and all incomplete decks, and win fairly often against even their best counter strategies.

Port is insane. Fun for a laugh, but you have to hate challenges if you actually enjoy its OPness.

Format List!!

Elo only stands now as a cash cow, the rich get richer. People should embrace clans and clan wars for there competition fix.

Just my well known and repeated thoughts on the matter.

u are the forecaster... the guy we all waited for... please tell us what we should do to solve the world finance crisis... please tell us what we should do to end all the wars in the world... please tell us how we can cure all the sicknesses... pathetic

i mentioned that it is an idea... ure personal hatred against me doesnt solve anything... i suggest you enlighten us with your ideas so that we can follow your path and your path alone.

the fact that i have to repeat myself ALL the time that i m against banning for more then a week is something your precious mind cant understand cause for several times you keep ignoring that... you are just focused on me as a discard deck player... so you think i m just unhappy because its discard being banned now...
again... that isnt true... i m against banning any card for more then a week... read it... understand it... get it finally.

the idea behind that system would be as follows:

week one... no cards banned
-player 1 has problems against discard decks so he votes out discard relevant cards
-player 2 had problems with sap items have soul cards so he votes them out

week two... items have soul and panic, abysser and salem are banned
-player 1 experiences problems with priests nomads so he votes for solars anger
-player 2 got problems with kotoba decks so he decides that word of the emperor needs a rest

week three... items have soul and the discards arent banned anymore but solars anger, solaris and some kotoba cards are

continues endlessly...

the only task feerik would have is to provide a big range of representative cards which may hurt a certain decktype if they got banned... but that shouldnt be the problem...

If ure foretold future happens to come true you can still try a new way or get back to the old system until you found a better way....

i m just saying the current situation is frustrating cause there seems no plan behind that.

Yes if they will follow it but some people aren't like that since playing this game i saw a lot of jerks who will do anything to win and yes it can be manipulated by this said jerks imagine a week full of discards that would be scary btw please be civilized about this its getting out of hand shooting someone when they didn't insult you is way out of line(even though its indirect).

its just annoying to have someone following you through all the threads just saying something whatever just to say something against me and always including some comment which is totally not true... i suggest that instead of continueing to follow me nurvus could just send me a pm to clear whatever his problem is...

anyways... but how else could u improve the banning system in a better way then now? i think it really needs to involve the players by letting them vote in some way.

to glashers ideas in other threads like focussing more and more on clan fights... not everybody wants to be in a clan... like i dont... because it ties me too much and would create a certain schedule after which i would have to play or not...

imo elo is a nice way of having a weekly tournament but i dont like the systems they use to level the niveau of the competition... if players were involved in the process it was ten-thousand times better because you can see where the descision came from.

so lets say feerik publishes a list with 20-30 cards each month and each week the players may determine which cards belong banned. i really think the majority of the players will overcome the stupidity of those few jerks.

Annoying and not true? to tell you the truth i find you more annoying sometimes and yet i keep myself quiet even though i find flaws in your reasoning read your own comment and see if it doesn't shoot at someone and also don't expect players to be fair in this game and i don't care if you don't like glashes ideas which could improve the community of this game, your op whining and don't think the whole world is against you because we contradict your ideas a bit were just showing the "flaws" of the system your suggesting. show us a unflawed system then well agree with it.

Re : a pol for banning cards

If you ask me , i'll say :

- Make [card]A New Start[/card] Unique
- Ban [card]The Prestige[/card] and [card]The Hungry Void[/card] 1-2 weeks every month
- Ban Discard Deck 1-2 weeks every month

So finally people can play in elo without have legendary cards cause these cards make a lot of difference.
The legendary cards are too much expensive and if we continue in this way only rich people will go on the top of the elo .... and that is annoying ......

Re : a pol for banning cards

Closing a thread only happens when things get out of hand (which they almost did). Closing a thread because someone is angry that no one agrees with their point doesn't happen.

You're entitled to your opinion, just like every one else is. It's not your English, that's fine.

Saying people hate you, and then following up with "don't have the balls" doesn't really support yourself very well. Being narrow minded on an argument, unwilling to understand the other side and just pushing through bullheaded doesn't help.

The rest of you who are being hostile are no better. There's a thing called the high road, learn to take it.

The cards banned at the moment make ELO unbalanced.

The merc priest discard deck was near unbeatable. The mill deck wasn't too far behind. As it stands, it's unbalanced, and feerik understands this and is blocking the overpowered cards until such a time they can introduce a way to counter them.

Port's just the same way.

So are the legendaries, in my opinion. Having so few with so much money creates an imbalace. It's why I never ELO beyond maybe 1600 to get the trophy each week. Why bother facing decks you know you can't afford to compete with? ELO's one of the things I can't stand to do anymore, just because of that.

Making ELO competitive is the goal, not making someone's favorite, near unbeatable deck, playable in the tourney.

If there were no luck in TCG, how boring would that be?

Re : a pol for banning cards

I am not quite sure what happened here - it seems posts got deleted...
I didn't come here to flame anyone or anything.

I just can't bring myself to support allowing unbalanced cards to be playable in competitive environment.
Not for 1 week. Not for 1 day.

Just as well, I felt compelled to make sure the idea didn't grow.
I feel the players that have invested in the banned cards - those players should be compensated somehow, but not by making the OP cards playable.

All games out there - and not just card games - have the same result when clearly unbalanced stuff runs around.

There's no reasoning around it being acceptable, and that's why this thread ended up heated.

Maybe I could've explained it better, but below is summed everything I said in my first post:
