Question - What the hell is Alishk doing in that deck?
- He is not a Dragon Guemelite...
- His ability does nothing in that deck
- 1 Defense
Question - Why Lightning Bolt and Explosion? You want something to kill Furagu and other strategies that screw your deck. Together with the useless Staff, it's 3 spots you can use on proper counters against certain decks.
How about Zahal for 3rd character?
- Defense bonus to mages
- Dragon Guemelite
- [card]The Dragon's Champion[/card] + Dragon's Wit -> Illumination (Crystal Storm) = win?

First, sorry because I'm a returning player and I have no idea regarding who Furagu is, or whatever cards counter this strategy. When I last played this game Last Word (or was it Last Action?) + Void + Bolts was the deck to beat.

I was thinking Lightning Bolts and Explosions to speed up the killing process. It gives your opponents 1-2 less turns to draw an out to your Storm / Wit + Vanish combo.

Alishk is in there because he's a Compendium Mage and can sustain Crystal Storm. I didn't catch the fact that he couldn't use Illumination to pull out Crystal Storm from the deck though.

Zahal sounds good. I can probably drop a copy of Illumination for Dragon's Champion, and maybe try to fit in Council's Mission in there if Zahal is present.

Quick question, with Illumination can Zahal carry Crystal Storm? Meaning, I can either run Wit + Storm or Illumination + Storm (preferably) ?

Crystal Storm is an AoE Spell... so cannot be D'Wit to. Illumination can work if they fix the bug... The last I checked (long time ago) I cannot seem to Illuminate into Draconic Spells. Something to do with the spells being "Draconic" rather than "Dragon"

you can't.
Crystal storm is an AOE spell , so you can't chain it with Dragon's Wit.
Also , illuminations say ( there is a wrong description in the english card ) : "the next spell for your deck that is also the same type as your guemelite and playable by him ( or her or it , the guemelite character so , this is missing ) is played immediately after the cards have just been played."
Cause Crystal Storm is only for Compendium , Zahal can't play it.

A bit redundant but at least there is no confusion.

Here's how I ran my Compendium when I last played. It worked fairly well, but I changed a few things around so I could get more defense out of the deal. I think the end result looked like this:

[3] [card]Manipulation[/card]

Max defense, plus the ability for [card]Marlok the Repentant[/card] to bust out a [card]Lightning Bolts[/card] LV3 with [card]The Hungry Void[/card] after a few [card]Overwhelming Victory[/card] have been played. Chaining wasn't a problem, as after the initial [card]Crystal Storm[/card] all you're doing it playing defensive cards to survive. The [card]Dragon's Wit[/card]/[card]Vanish[/card] Combo is awesome, but I think this way is more efficient, and allows for more defensive cards to be played.

Using [card]Dragon's Wit[/card] with something else than Vanish is an error in this deck.
You have to play 3 Compendium in order to have at least 1 Crystal Storm before round 4.

To be honest, you don't really need Ishaia. I ran a version with Alishk, Anreyna and Erevent with success. It only works with having Rain of Death. I'm not sure if you have those stocked up before you left on vacation :-) at least I won't rely on Crystal Storm to kill my opponents.

Because you see, Dragon's Wit indicates that the character will ignore all restrictions on the next card played... and that card is Illumination, wich means the moment Illumination is played, the character is considered to be able to play anything, wich should warrant Crystal Storm "valid".

The combination you say i don't think will work but i'm not sure , i didn't tested so maybe Crystal Storm is playable in that way. However , now i can't try cause i have not crystals. If you can , try and then say us the answer

Yes, Zahal needs to be a Dragon Guemelite for it to work. I think level 3 Zahal (Guemelite version) can do it.
