Can't afford Multitasking, so since I can't test my deck idea, I'll let others do it for me.
[card]Marlok the Repentant[/card] - Has 4 base spirit at Lv3
- [card]Dragon's Wit[/card] -> [card]Spear of Light[/card] - 4 health per fight
// -> [card]Solar's Anger[/card] - Offense & anti-Discard
- [card]Crystal Storm[/card] -> main damage dealer
- [card]Armor Invocation[/card] + [card]Dragon Armor[/card]
...other defensive stuff
- [card]Obesity[/card] - to counter [card]Clumsiness[/card]
Special Sauce:
[card]Delko[/card] - No Jorus. You don't care about your opponent's Spirit (nor yours).
- [card]Multitasking[/card] -> [card]Evil Jorusien[/card] - extra stormness
// -> [card]Good Jorusien[/card] - does your Stormer need some protection?
Note: You can only have a total of 3 Evil/Good Jorusien in the deck.
I recommend 3 Evil, but 2 Evil/1 Good may be a good idea to help counter certain decks.

Note: Evil Jorusiens are alot better here.Any thoughts?
Replace ***bip*** delko with jorus so your jorusiens will be much useful cause of their spirit bonus which depends on either -1 spirit for bad or +1 for good which is quite useful for your crystal storm if you want to reduce magic def and increase damage go bad if you want more damage but want to live longer go good

I got some ideas about Compendium caste and their [card]Crystal storm[/card]
I will be using:
[card]Aerouant[/card] since he got 3 spirits
[card]Marlok the Repentant[/card] 4 spirits here
[card]Archmage Anryena[/card] defense buff and magic reduction plus auto [card]Draconic scepter[/card] equipped
Here's the card list
[card]Crystal storm[/card] 3x
[card]Draconic scepter[/card] 3x to increase AoE damage and chain someting
[card]Dragon armor[/card] 3x
[card]The camp[/card]
[card]Tadaa! You are a bunny[/card]
[card]Fallback[/card] 2x
[card]I hate brawler[/card] 3x
[card]Obesity[/card] 2x
[card]Freeze[/card]
[card]Overwhelming victory[/card]
It might look odd having mages with only 4 spells but it's the ultimate turtle strategy
The idea is to equip and turtle after Crystal storm is played. Some cards boost defense and spirit permanently to increase the survivability and AoE damage per turn, the rest of the cards boost defense so beatdown have a tough time with you. I also put obesity to avoid clumsiness just like Nurvus said. DSH or nehantic may be very dangerous so I put freeze just in case
If the formula of crystal storm is like this: Damage = X + 2 - Y , where x is your spirit and Y is your opponent's this deck might actually work out

Crystal Storm always give 2 dmg and only Evil Jorusien can increase it.

Your build is similar to mine Lime, only difference is i use Ish over Marlok. I also have a couple more offensive spells for Ish mostly, and for the others to use when I don't draw Crystal Storms right away and as finishers. Here it is:

I'm still doing some tweaking here and there, but this is my best build so far. I don't use obesity because I haven't ran into anybody using [card]Clumsiness[/card], but if in the future it becomes a staple like Anathematize etc., then I will consider it.
I haven't tried to see how far I can get it to go in ELO, but I was able to get it to 1700 rather easily (if that means anything) before I stopped to level other chars.
Anyways, have fun, compendium seems to have alot of potential and is very fun to play.
BTW TC, I really like your Dragon Wit -> Spear of Light idea for that extra health gain/damage, and also using the joruseins to increase the damage. Never would have thought about those, but there could be something to them

Thanks four your reply Ant, but I'm not really in into mages, my idea was just popped out of nowhere so it might look ineffective. Although I must say I'm really interested with Tsoutai and World Tree, too bad we haven't got update on World Tree, I was hoping to get it this week.
Anyway Compendium is a great caste, see lots of potential there

[card]Spear of Light[/card] gives 4 HP every turn for Lv3[card]Marlok the Repentant[/card].
Comparing to [card]Paladin's Hammer[/card], SoL doesn't give any penalties, gives +2 attack, and on Marlok heals the same (or more) if you account for opponent defense and whatnot, since as a Warrior (after using Paladin's Hammer) you can't use spells like [card]Magic Attack[/card] anymore, and you only want to use Crystal Storm, anyway .

Your Opponent's Spirit + 2 = Damage you Deal.
Since it's Magic, it's reduced by Your Opponent's Spirit.
So if your opponent's spirit is 3. You do 3 + 2 - 3 = 2.
Even though Direct Damage accomplishes the same without the complicated wording, I think they made it this way because they wanted it to count as Magic damage, rather than Direct damage, for purposes of cards that reduce or negate this, like [card]Archmage Anryena[/card] or [card]Psalm[/card].

Aerouant sucks as a compendium character, use archmage or alishk in the ishaia combo, marlok makes you other chars far too vulnerable to mages even if they are mage and marlok with spear and such.... his attack is terrible and its a waste when he could play last word/rod combo instead and do some real damage. Compendium characters excel is using draconic spells so use ishaia, alishk/pilkim, and archmage. all can use draconic spells all get boosts but you need ANS to get the cards you need ASAP. i ran ishaia, pilkim, alishk in my compendium deck and the damage i dealt was unreal.
