A proposal on what to do with "unplayable/unsaleble" cards

In another thread I posted the following post, but the person that responded pointed out that the discussion was better suited to be here smile

So here is my original post (with edits from Feerik, which is totally fine smile), from "Decks and Strategies":

As far as I know, currently, can't. This I feel is a terrible thing, because it can be done in a way so doing this, would not hurt the market.

The issue of the problem is the "useless" card phenomena. This is a know phenomena that occurs in EVERY card game (I play Magic: the gathering, so I know what I am talking about). And this is a healthy thing since it forces players to think more about their deck construction, and it keeps the power creep down. BUT, when you are experienced enough, you do see the cards that you can't use, EVER, and there is a good chance that alot of the other players have caught on as well.

THE SOLUTION, to this can be achived in a lot of ways of course. In ***biiiiip*** they have a lottery, where you can extra tickets through donating some cards, and the higher the rarety the better.

In Eredan I would suggest that you could donate your cards for Fee'z. Of the top I would make it 5 Fee's for a common card, 20 for an Uncommon, 50 for a Rare and a 100 for a legendary.

What do you think? Is this insane, could it work, or am I complaining about a problem that doesn't exist?

For reference, here are some cards that is in my oppinion either unsaleble or unplayable; "all of the predeck cards; fight, discreation ect.", pacification, dragons awakening, "the *i hate guild* cards; Noz, kotoba ect", and the usual cards that you put on sale for 100 crystals (not a lot of them, but a good deal).

Nope your actually right...  I also played Magic cards, L5R, Middle Earth, Animahem, Pokemon Etc... Thats was always the problem with unused cards.
can i add up something
cause this is online instead of trading unwanted cards for crystals or fee'z

they could make some Lottery stuff. example
6 commmon or 4 uncommon or 2 rare cards in exchange for a random new card...
this will reduce the number of card on peoples trash bin and have a chance on picking a better card  or not
another thing this will also reduce the number of card on market that are not resellable...
the loading time of card on screen will reduce...

"I did Follow you right away big_smile cause this is a great topic for people who got tons of unused cards" and maybe we can hear alot of approval on the readers as well...

How about trading cards by its experience

Ex: they can make options that can convert a card into "experience card for upgrades" then people who don't want to lvl again cards can trade unuse card into "experience cards"...
simple but can be a posibility right big_smile

That would be a really great idea, since it would't devalueate the prices on the market, because the bonus that people would get would only be some "saved time" in the form of experience.

Perhaps 25-50 xp per card, or maybe a random xp value so you can be lucky and get 100 "free" xp smile

I like this idea alot.

A few notes:
- High experience cards would become alot more valuable (but their high availability might counter this) in the market. Essentially, people would sell Experience Cards (but at least there'd be something worth doing with trash cards).
- Evolved cards might drop in price due to "experience" being less "expensive".
- Training and Leveling Rooms would probably be flooded with decks evolving loads of cards (characters and otherwise) to sell them in the market for their experience value (or hoard to level a character)
- You'd simply see characters at max level like like 20x faster than now.

None of these seem really bad situations, since they'd kinda fix themselves.

Imo, it should go like this:
- Common cards - turn into a card with 50% its experience.
- Uncommon cards - turn into a card with 75% its experience.
- Rare cards - turn into a card with 100% its experience.
- Legendary cards - turn into a card with 150% its experience.

Alternative - Value is Fixed, but Lv and Rarity add to it:
- All cards would have an additional "upgrade path" that allows you to upgrade a fully experienced card into an EXP Card instead of its normal upgrade.
There would always be loss of EXP.

Common cards (the default) would, starting at Lv1, upgrade into: 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, etc.
Uncommon Cards would start one step ahead (50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, etc)
Rare Cards would start two steps ahead (100, 250, 500, 1000, etc)
Legendary Cards would start three steps ahead (250, 500, 1000, etc)

Example (Rare card):
Zahal Lv1 + 160 EXP = Zahal Lv2
or Zahal Lv1 + 160 EXP = 100 EXP Card

Zahal Lv2 + 320 (480) EXP = Zahal Lv3 (Dragon Guemelite)
or Zahal Lv2 + 320 (480) EXP = Zahal Lv3 (Human)
or Zahal Lv2 + 320 (480) EXP = 250 EXP Card

Zahal Lv3 (either) + (1108) EXP = Zahal Lv4
or Zahal Lv3 (either) + (1108) EXP = 500 EXP Card

This would a be good for the one time event cards that are now worthless too.  Like the four Scroll Pouch of the Octopus that I have.  I'd love to sack those for a 100 xp card or 2000 crystals.  Maybe have it so their sacked to the stone or something.  I like the lottery idea too, with the addition 1 collector card to do it too.  I keep staring at these now pointless cards in my collection wishing they'd be worth something.

im liking the lottery idea. just trade in a set amount of cards and you get a certain pack. say for so many commons get a 4 pack. if you trade 2 rares and some commons or uncommons you can get a 12 pack of choice.  i think the xp is a bad idea. i like it, but would just be way to easy

i think lottery would work better. cause if the xp went into effect the character cards would plummet even further

When will this be up? Its been a long time now. smile There are so many unusable cards in the market (hundred per card), as well as many players my collection window. Best thing would be random card recycler.

5 commons >> 1 random common
10 commons >> 1 random uncommon
5 uncommons >> 1 random uncommon
10 uncommons >> 1 random rare/legendary
5 rares >> 1 random rare/legendary

It would lower the cost of expensive cards by a bit and increase the cost of 100crystal cards. And would significantly reduce the number of cards in the market.

I like this idea.
Another suggestion would convert the card into FOIL cards which one can use to turn 1 card to foil.

Example...
15 common - 1 Foil upgrade
10 uncommon - 1 Foil upgrade
5 rare - 1 Foil upgrade
