you can counter with obesity, moneyed, the councils decision, watcher or just plain attacking them with ***bip*** strongest cards...
Eh. Obesity is a good counter. Obesity is 17k, which is fairly pricey. Moneyed and Watcher are a losing proposition. Moneyed doesn't even chain, so you're trading a turn, where you're losing 1-3 cards for a draw of 1-3 random cards. Watcher is one card back, plus the card you played, in a turn when you're losing 1-3. Council is a Court card. That all goes back to the idea that discard decks are primarily countered by high, fast damage decks. So discard may not beat fast damage decks. But that means people are now playing discard or fast damage. Entire swathes of the game are thrown out because they don't ko in 4 turns. And that weakens the metagame, and the long term survivability of the game itself.
I like to toss a couple Living Daggers in to a DK deck, but that's expensive.
But as above, the core of a DK deck is 2-3 Dragon Armor, 2-3 Dragon Sword, 2-3 Magic Attack, 3 Dragon's Wit, and then 3-4 cards to play with Dragon's Wit. Paladin's Hammer and Divine Might are most popular combo.
I think the biggest issue is that a discard deck is cheap to build, but anti-discard cards are extremely expensive. ANS and Obesity are the best counters, and they're tremendously expensive. On the other hand, Treachery, Theft and the like are trash cards for a lot of people.
My main issue with discard is that it requires you to completely reshape your deck in case you face it. It's not a "splash 2-3 cards and keep your core strategy" type of thing. You have to look at every deck you have in terms of how it will survive discard, and rip out big sections, which you don't have to do for most other styles.
Additionally, there aren't any anti-discard cards. Most killer decks have built in weaknesses. IHAS is killed by Anath-whatever. Foam Giant gets squashed by Freeze or To Lay Bare. Etc. Discard deck doesn't really care what you play - it's the same cycle of "-attack, discard" every turn.
Ice Shield is a great Witchblade card, especially since it chains. I also really like I Hate Brawlers, since it also chains.
There need to be anti-discard cards. Every CCG I've played that doesn't reign in discard decks ends up losing players because discard just isn't fun to play against. When all you see are discard decks at the high end, it removes the incentive to get new cards, etc.
So, to that end:
Treacherous Mirror
Jewel
Level 1
If the opposing character causes you to discard any cards, they discard an equal number.
Level 2
If any opposing characters cause you to discard any cards, they discard an equal number.
I hate the Circus
Attack +1
If this card is discarded from your deck or hand by an opposing card, all cards in your discard are placed back in your deck. You may not choose this card to discard if there are any other choices.
Card Box
Craftsman Item
Attach this card to a character. Any time cards are discarded by opposing cards, they go in the Card Box. If there are no cards left in the controlling player's deck, they may instead draw cards from the Card Box.
This Will Hurt You....
Attack +1
If you are forced to discard any cards this turn, the opposing character suffers 1 direct damage for each card discarded.
Chain: More Than Me
More Than Me.
Defense +1
If you are forced to discard any cards this turn, you heal 1 point of damage for each card discarded.
Long Term Investment
Discard X cards from your hand. Randomly add twice as many cards from your discard to your deck.
Compensation
If an opposing card reduces your attack, add one card from your discard to your deck for each point lost (Maximum of 3).
Spiked Card Box
Craftsman Item
Attach this card to a character. That character immediately suffers 2 direct damage. When opposing cards would force you discard one or more cards, do not discard any cards. The character with Spiked Card Box attached takes 2 direct damage.
Locked Card Box
Craftsman Item
Level 1
When an opposing card causes you to discard one or more cards, you discard one less. You only draw one card at the end of your turn.
Level 2
When an opposing card causes you discard one or more cards, you discard half as many (rounded down). You only draw one card at the end of your turn.
Level 3
When an opposing card causes you discard one or more cards, you discard half as many (rounded down). Both players only draw one card at the end of their turns.
She's a great mage that boosts all spells.
But particularly, she's very valuable for cards like [card]Versatility[/card] that give you bonuses based on each clan. She gets all of them.

If the cards you plan to focus on in the beginning are on the list, you might want to keep the Watchmaker.
That being said, if you're a new player, and don't want to spend a lot of money, sell the Watchmaker at level 2 (NOT LEVEL 3!) and buy cards that aren't in that list. There's a lot you can do with other cards.
Well, it seems a good idea to me. The part of using Amaya and shurikens... But full tracker's deck? No, I won't remove Iro! The shurikens are good, I only need one, and then I can equip it each turn in the character that's entering in battle right?
Once you draw it, you can continue to use it unless it's discarded by a card. But I usually run 2 - you need to draw it before you can play, and just having one doesn't come up often enough for me.
Are there any spells that Solarians can cast due to race?
Mike_Magnus a écrit :I don't think you can give crystals to someone either....
Technically, he can. The "winner" sells a I.E. lv.1 [card]Pilkim[/card] or another cheap card, making the selling price the amount "awarded". something like 20000 crystals...
... But I don´t know if it goes against any rule
Eh, it clearly happens a lot, based on the min/max prices. And the sale takes a 10% cut, so money comes out of the game.
You could hypothetically private sale a card too, that way, but it would be expensive.
Say I want to buy your Fireball for 25k. You sell the Fireball for 70k (or some other price that's clearly not going to sell). I buy it, then sell you a card for 45k, or some such, You still lose 10% both ways tho. And you have to have a stock of crystal to loan.
And, of course, you have to trust the other person.
Using the same discard deck to return it.
Well, sure, but then you're basically just flipping a coin to see who wins. We could just redo Eredan to be a click n' wait game.
I suspected it was going to be broken horribly once it was built, and it is.
So, how do you counter a discard deck? A good one looks like it can go through your entire deck in 5 turns, 4 if they get really lucky. I know that ANS will fix it, but ANS is 200k, and that's assuming it doesn't get discarded anyway.
I know killing them fast will help, but the ones I've seen are chaining -6 attack, or Tada You're a Bunny or the like to make that nearly impossible unless you're playing a mage deck.
I'm a big fan of "I hate brawlers" in my Witchblade deck.
I didn't like the fused, as it's not as good as either individually. A fused/ana/caster deck isn't bad, but I don't like the style.
My deck atm:
Moira
Eg
Ana
3x Blade of the Witch
2x Fireball
1x Freeze
3x I hate Brawlers
1x Ice Shield
2x Magic Attack
1x Sword of Light
2x Pen is..
2x Than the sword
3x Unleash Hell.
Generally my plan is to use the Blades to chain on the marauders, then follow with I Hate Brawlers, or an attack spell, or an Ice Shield. After round 1, whenever I get Unleash Hell I use it, unless my opponent has high spirit - typically Blade of the Witch + a good attack leaves opponents at somewhere around 3-5 health, which most people don't mind. Until the Hells come out. After one foe is dead, if the second has <4 health, I still use Hell, otherwise I just focus on defense and the occasional extra attack.
It's not a top tier deck, but so far, it's gotten a lot of perfects in the sub 11 range. Beyond that, it's a lot of fun, and has a ton of choices, which is the key to me liking it.
Redtbeard a écrit :add a few more burn in hell.
get another lightning bolts(lvl2, dunno if it's actually possible to add a lvl 2 one if you have a lvl 3).yeah basically i'd add a few burn in hell or if you want something more usefull for the start, fireballs/rain of death maybe even i hate brawlers?.
pretty sure you can only have 3 copies of any card....and already has three burn in hells
I think the I hate Brawlers idea is a good one.
Will there be any way to get the pets aside from buying boosters?
Such as being able to buy them directly from the store since they are not marketable?
I already got stuck with a second glacius... And while one is neat... duplicates are useless since the pets are unsellable...To end on a positive note, it is a clever idea.
I have 4 reindeers, and the glacius I got from the Advent calendar.
Given that you can't sell them or trade them, I do feel kinda ripped off.
Equip these three characters with christmas pets...
Does that mean all 3 of your characters in a fight?
Well, there are a couple other spells that let you ignore restrictions, if you really want to play them....
I'm confused by the sword, I think.
If you have one equipped, and you play another, you get +1 attack for the sword, and another +1 attack for already having a sword?
And the 4 magic damage happens at the end of the turn? Or when is that actual "activation" time?
And lastly, what exactly is "physical damage" for the Ice Shield? Is that just getting attacked by anything but a spell?
Has anyone put together a list of all the chain cards somewhere?
Seems like it might be somewhat useful....
I'm really enjoying the witchblades.
Useful spells for them:
Sword of light (+1a +1s +2 health if Nos)
Smoking arrows (straight 3-5)
Burn in Hell (2-4 AoE)
Water spell thatgives +1 def to all.
spell that does damage based on spells in your discard
Magic Attack (opp def =0)
So, I'm really enjoying my Witchblade deck. And thanks to boosters, I just came in to about 30k crystals, and I'd like to improve it.
Questions:
1. I'm using Alishk (2, Pyro) as my full mage, because he wasn't too expensive. Is there a better mage for me to use?
2. Should I just spend it all on another fireball, or are there other cards I'm missing out on?
