Guy used Cataclysm on me turn 2 in a level room, not ELO. Two of my guys lived through the damage. He lost, I got the victory but no rewards outside of the victory. That's why I think something odd with Aigle's pic.
Also, well of course it's good with Venerable. But I was thinking about the probably 60-50% of players that don't have something that strong to use it with. Possibly even more.
Adventure mode - made to have players try new decks. But Bosses are unbeatable.

Depends. You only need one pack? Grab it and get the character if you want.
Otherwise it seems people here like Cataclysm more or find it to be a more useful card.

Get cataclysm - besides scragh and V shulong you can use it with eclipse, sitar hero, zil dagger and probably any AoE deck.
The survivor has no synergy with the existing cards.

if you don't care for collecting, the survivor doesn't seem worth it imo too.
i mean, against some decks, if they want your char deck, it will die..
