It doesn't count.
But. Playing card from Discard counts. And sux.
Somehow this event feels like a big stupide. Can't shake off this feeling.
Not much of entertainment. Maybe Cataclysm time isn't so much of entertainment anyway.

If my understanding is correct, I can play a card from opponent's discard pile and that will remove his card, if played from mine then my card will be removed. The question is still (edited in my previous post) whether using Hungry Void increases cards played to 2 instead of 1. If chained then cards played count increases to 3 instead of 2.

Edit: Just found out playing Hungry Void on opponent's card does NOT count

Dafuq?!
I don't say the cards are good (but seriously, cataclysm is awesome!)
And it is almost impossible to finish this event for free...

but for the first time in eredan ITCG, you are given the opportunity to test real decks for free...! (there has already been hares deck in PVE or the trial tournament with the beginners deck, but this is not the same level)
Seriously, stop disregarding this event, one of the best IMO.

Re : December 20th: Last Tournament before the End of the World

I actually like this event. I was lucky and got pirate snipers as my first deck smile
plus my elo is just getting higher and higher because i'm facing people with high elo using decks I know I will beat muahaha.

the only drawback is that I'm not using (or can't use) my toolbox cards givin to me so I have 30 copies of cards I can't use against the opponent properly and it's making me loose afew matches

but yeah I'm loving this, if I end up running out of coins and can't continue then oh well, I just won't continue

I think it is a fun event, you get to play a tourney with cards you might not have, get two decks to check out, play a little and with some luck (and skill) you might get to try out some more decks.

Getting Cataclysm and Survivor  will be very grindy or a matter of paying up.

O, sidenote: what does 'loose' the game mean?
Maybe Feerik thinks the matches are too tight wink

Also all the decks are the same right? Like Eclipse Nomads is the deck you get everytime from that pack?

Correct, you can see the cards that come in each in the store for the event.

Thanks for that Ellias. On a side note, did everyone start or go buy the pirate deck? Cause I'm seeing that a lot in my fights and can't win vs it. ><

Not a problem! And no... I started with saps. Also I haven't seen a pirate deck yet. so it's probably all chance.

Yeah probably. But the Eclipse doesn't do well vs Pirate or the Sap deck it seems. Too little defense to take the multitarget shots. That or I'm playing them really wrong.

You're absolutely right. No way they can withstand their damage.
Bad match-up. Just don't play any cards.

Re : December 20th: Last Tournament before the End of the World

To complete the Event / getting Cataclysm, if you need to buy 6 decks (2 of them being free) for 15 coins each, you'd spend 90 coins plus 50 coins for trophy, that's 140 right?

So we need 140 coins = 140 wins.
With 8 decks, you'd need 17.5 wins per deck to earn 140 wins.
With 81* usable cards, you can play average of 4.63 cards per match if you win all your matches.
With minimum of 6 cards needed to be played, completion would be impossible without Feez, or did I make a mistake somewhere?

Let's try getting Survivor.
So we need 90 coins for 6 decks = 90 wins.
With 8 decks, you'd need 11.25 wins per deck to earn 90 wins.
With 81* usable cards, you can play average of 7.2 cards per match if you win all your matches.
Seems possible, but not very probable.

*100 starting cards, when they go down to 19 or below, deck is no more usable.

Good point of this event is that everyone gets to play a few pretty nice decks of a guild without making it himself. But truth to be told, you'd better stop dreaming of getting cards without spending Feez.

Cataclysm is enough for me .

Don't put your goal on a card that you are not sure if you are gonna use it .

The one fault I am going to pick at with a stick is that if the one player thinks they will lose they quit before you play 6 cards and you get nothing, but waste your cards.

If your opponent quit, you keep your cards.

Okay Zurga, I must apologise, I spoke without knowing for sure. Forgive me?

Also; I noticed the Nomads lack the chain power that would make them more formidable (Assassination) Is that because they become too powerful?

I feel this is a good event..., with rather high rewards. Meaning great idea but the work/luck you need to do this for free is kinda overkill. Shame too as the Character seems useful.

I dont like this event because it is not a matter of time to spend to get the cards... you have to pay yes or yes to get the cataclysm card, and thats not fair.

Stop deaming now. You can't get nothing for free in this one. Theoricly, yes you can get the Survivor but for that you need a 80%+ win ratio with every deck since you can get a maximum of 14 games using exactly 6 cards in every one of them.

IMHO, the best way to make this event  is to try to minimize the use of feez by buying new decks only when you run out of coins AND decks to get new coins. This way you can finish the event with around 1k feez with luck (8~9 coins per deck), buying coin packages for 199 Feez, not boosters.

Just another money grab event to finish the year with style. big_smile
But hey, we already hv the advent wall for free.
