It's still prominent.  They should ban Panic, that one's exponentially powerful.  Treacherous is good, but spirit isn't guaranteed.  Not to mention they still have The Psychurgist and Blackmail.

I think you have not played discard decks very often.
With tons of cards that reduce attack you can defend against their strongest blow (look away + tadaa -8 attack, LA + chiroscuro -3 attack 3 heal, LA + fall back ) so you can usually keep marauders and especially warriors in check (at least 2 out of the 3 first turns) and survive for 5 turns, but mages can deal a lot of fast damage to discard and if they one shot one of your cards there's a rather big chance you will lose.

When did I start talking about their defensive capabilities?

I was talking about deck synergy and pointing out how well treacherous fits in a discard deck.

But you didn't mention Trecherous once in your last post.  If anything you said that they can hold off warriors and have a hard time with Mages, which is a round-about way of saying Trecherous is good because Mages have Spirit.

Wow I did not expect this thread to get so many replies. I am very curious about the staff member who says only about 2 discards decks get into the top 10 ELO.

I just faced a person who was obviously discard. But he uses manipulation, ice barrier (ish), ball, and clone to heal and defense and negative attack any deck I have.

Well of course pirates, saps, and mercs only get -1 damage. But with the Ish +2 defense +ball/clone it is still nearly impossibly to defeat this deck.

And with manipulation on top of an undefeatable Marlok, it is very hard to beat this deck.

This has been going on for a year+ now and I am very surprised Feerik has yet to balance these decks. When I first started this game over a year ago it was great, attack vs defense vs spirit. Discards were always top ranked no matter what which is why I get frustrated with this game. It is just no matter what deck you make the deck I described above can defeat most decks.

The only thing I can assume that counters that deck is another discard deck. Personally I hate discard decks (as does the staff member that already posted here). Discard decks have no say in this game, it is unbalanced IMO. I would just like to revert back to the days of rock paper scissors but I fear this will never come...

If you start to encounter more discard, then switch your deck to be more aggressive or use cards such as [card]Clumsiness[/card], [card]Magic Attack[/card], [card]Stink Bomb[/card], etc. Not having any counters for discard or another deck to fight discard is a poor excuse of saying discard is OP.

To be honest, I have a discard deck too (one of my many decks) and I tend to switch them to another deck when facing highly aggressive decks. It is not as OP as people think. Think diversity when you play ELO. Top players tend to have counters and other decks to fight the metagame.
