Note that any witchblades only get the defense bonus because they aren't dragon guemelites.

I'm using this hybrid for the trophy, and I'm quite surprised at how effective Ice Coffin is with the weapons.

I think he was saying that more as one would say that nervously. Freeze would kill off all of those, so it would be as to mock the thing that would actually be the downfall of those cards.


Would love to see a new Dragon Knight character (Whether he be a Mage, Warrior, Marauder, or a combo)
Would also love to see a Mage/Priest character (Aside from Ateb lvl 3 who's the only one I know of)

[card]Ice Barrier[/card] and [card]Ice Shield[/card] are fairly deadly when stacked. Aside for the lack of the 1 spirit, I think I'd actually opt for 3 [card]Ice Barrier[/card] over 3 [card]Crystal Shelf[/card] since it covers everyone for def for each one. 3 of the shelf's would only give 1 per person or 3 on 1 person. The barrier would each cover them all, so setting one a piece would give each +3 def. That and it is a magic perm instead of item perm, Freeze doesn't work on it.

As for [card]Ice Coffin[/card], as far as I know (The +1 def aside) the only item that those would really benefit from is the [card]Blade of the Witch[/card] since it has the 4 Magic Attack upon activation, or I suppose [card]Dragon Armor[/card]/[card]Dragon Molt[/card] for the +2 health. The [card]Draconian Sword[/card] too if you use the [card]The Dragon's Awakening[/card] (I suppose you could use a [card]Dragon's Wit[/card] but seems pointless to use the sword without getting the DK bonus)

Just wanted to point out that Ice Coffin creates a chain, and you can chain two of them together... on a witchblade with both the blade of the witch and dragon armor it makes them both re-activate twice in the same round.  Done it plenty of times in late games for that double 4 magic attack, 4 health heal, plus the witchblades attack to finish off a stingy kotoba that just wouldn't die otherwise.

I suppose so..., though a kotoba against a full witchblade deck should be really easy to kill off. Using Ice Shield, your choice to stack or spread them, deals in direct damage. The witchblades sword gives 4 magic damage and since kotoba dont have high spirit, magic is the way to go on them. Spam a good aoe spell and they start hurting badly. Naya improves their health, the dragon armor improves spirit and def, ice barrier improves def for them all...

I know a lot of people like the [card]Life Devourer[/card] which can be used to substitute 1-3 of the last 3 cards, but that sort of defeats the purpose behind the Spirit then. In any case, I cant really see the witchblades losing to the kotoba.

Ice Barrier and Blade of the Witch all chain on them, thats 6 chainable cards, and once all the equips are out of the way, you dont need to chain any more anyways. You'll be physically strong with good def. There's even a chance you might not need to use the spells, you might be good right there.

Uhm... you should have a minimum of 2 x RoD, better 3 ofc but I can understand the price isn't welcome. 1x Bolts lvl 3 is enought.

If you look at the cards, there are 12 cards taken by the equips. 3 [card]Magic Attack[/card] is a staple for any DK/Witchblade deck to even up the stronger def teams, like DK and the Kotoba. Thats 15/20 cards

2 [card]Ice Coffin[/card] can give back health via the [card]Dragon Armor[/card] and also attack via the [card]Blade of the Witch[/card], which also gives an additional +1 Def to the mix. Thats 17/20 cards.

With 3 cards left, you have few choices.
RoD is a strong attack, granted, but it only attacks one person. It is not an AOE.
LB3 is a very good attack, and is AOE.

I myself do not have either of those cards, but looking through the forum, many people feel that the LB3 is actually the better card. Regardless, RoD IS very expensive. Arcanium is FAR cheaper, and uses the cards you will already play to become nearly as strong as RoD (2-3 points less powerful)

Another thing to note. If you look at the witchblades attack, you will see they are fairly strong. And after the magic attack they will deal a physical attack, and likely they will deal the 2 dmg counter as well.

RoD Is very powerful, but not really needed when you attack magically, physically, and counter all in one turn. Thats a spendy card just to achieve overkill, especially when its unlikely that you'll be killed off.




...Unless someone played the [card]Root[/card] card when still putting equips on, or [card]Items Have a Soul[/card] by the 4th round after dumping items, or [card]Freeze[/card] after equipping everything, but even then the only things they lose is 1 spirit, 3 att, 1 def. They are still very strong.
