finally got him!

Good for you. Can you share with us how many fight/victories allowed you to do this. My winning rate is like 20% with Corruption deck and I just need to calculate if it won't be better to spend energy on sth else
Hors ligne
you have to do around 50 wins to be sure to loot him...
but you can hope to loot him in less than 30...
(its all about luck...)
(i personnally looted him after 15 wins...)

So if I won't loose any more and spend all available energy in next 2 days then it might work, it's so uplifting. So best strategy for it is just throwing away all cards except DMR+portal and praying for goof hand in next turn am I right?
Hors ligne
yep...
I used eclipse, but all i did was praying for dazzle or burning soul every turn...

What?
Is your deck like mine?
Because, trust me, you do not want any crap that discards stuff from him...
Just play the deck I suggested early in this thread.
And do it in the way I suggest.
I never EVER lose.
And only fail to perfect sometimes.

But HOW do you manage to keep his defense from going sky high with this deck is my question? refer to my previous posts. I have one less clay to use, and I don't have the 1 year birthday birthday card, but I have the rest, and my chances have not improved. I even have the receptacle and he's occasionally grabbed cards that he shouldn't have ( a second demonic portal, switching attacks back again). I'm just not getting it, don't know how I EVER managed to perfect him, luck I guess...

Use Wanted! It's great if you get it on him fast, and have a couple in your deck to put one back on if he discards it. I'm playing corruptions now and haven't lost in about 10 consecutive games with that strategy, DMR and DP. Even with two Icy Aura's on there, if he's used enough cards before, the Wanted! will keep his defense at 0. I also threw some Magic Attacks in my deck, but honestly almost never use them if my timing and luck work in my favor.
Hors ligne
Hotfoot, you do that by LETTING him stack his attack high.
Use your portal and you'll 3-5 shot him, while he does crap damage.
Discarding different cards is good for you - you don't lose from decking out & his attack rises.
[card]Wanted![/card] is only useful in one very unlikely scenario: He plays at least 2 [card]icy aura[/card]s in the first 2 turns and he doesn't play [card]agmundar's rage[/card] in the first 4 turns.
---
[card]Dimizar[/card] ([card]Nehantic Receptacle[/card] is better)
[card]Iron Mask[/card]
[card]Amidaraxar[/card]
Damage/Defense:
3x [card]Demon May Rise[/card]
3x [card]Demonic Portal[/card]
1x [card]Break the Second Chain[/card]
3x [card]Wanted![/card]
Defense:
2x [card]Illusory Reflection[/card]
3x [card]Double Clay[/card]
2x [card]Perversion[/card]
Utility:
1x [card]Revealing the Secret[/card] - Thins Deck; boosts your Demonic Portal
1x [card]Coaching[/card] - In case you get unlucky with his Order
1x [card]1 Year Old Already![/card] - In case you get unlucky with his Order
Note:
Revealing the Secret will get discarded, but it'll make your deck smaller, increasing the odds you draw the cards you need, and will also boost his Attack to fuel your Demonic Portal.
Basic Strategy
1 - The sooner he plays Agmundar's Rage, the better.
2 - You want to try to play your first Demon May Rise as your SECOND card, preferrably on HIS Turn, to ensure it lands AFTER he plays his Agmundar's Rage.
3 - As soon as he has Agmundar's Rage, you can freely lay your Double Clay/Illusory Reflection/Perversion + Demonic Portal
4 - On the Turn his Rage ends play the following:
His Turn = Break the Second Chain -> Demon May Rise
Your Turn = Demonic Portal -> Double Clay/Illusory Reflection/Perversion

Have anyone tried beating him with Crow deck? I wonder if it would work with Tsume and Mark of Crows while increasing our own defense

i think it could work IF u would draw all tsumes in the starting hand... and the king has all his rage giving cards at the very end of his deck...
forget it.. wont happen... every permanent card you played is dropped once he gets raged and with every different card in ure graveyard he gets a big attack boost...

Actually, it can work if you use [card]Sens of Danger[/card]+ [card]Mark of the Crow[/card] early, and then use [card]Escaping Death[/card]/[card]Steel Body[/card] + [card]Tsume[/card] when Rage is already in play and his attack is hard to manage.
The order in wich you play the cards is of great importance.
Knowing that Agmundar's Rage doesn't discard your cards if another Agmundar's Rage is already active is important too.

To me the excitement of playing a game vanishes when 80% of the content is pointless, and 95% is not competitive.
Recent releases have simply meant more cards are going to be taken out of competition.
Rarely does something new revive something old.

as i remember that's what happens to MTG when they decide to make so much pointless cards, they lost the essence of balance of game play, and eventually died out...

When did Magic die out? Last I checked they Magic still makes Wizards of the Coast millions and millions of dollars. It gets more fans every year.

This drop rate is just ridiculous for such a P.O.S. card...I'm about ready to give up, having still not gotten him after SO many wins. It has taken all the fun out of the matches...

i know where getting out of topic...yup they get millions from books, online events, convention and those new CCGs/MMORPG games franchise... they are calling it digital game now. but not Garfield first brainchild they even change the original looks of the cards.

[card]Extinction[/card] does not always work on the King. That's pretty frustrating for a limited time event.

Basically I've replaced [card]Wanted![/card] with [card]Magic Attack[/card] and I don't have [card]1 Year Old Already![/card] so I'm going with 2 coaching so this is almost the same deck as yours. So you never loose with this deck?
My last situation - Agmundar's Rage on turn 3, first portal on turn 4. I've used def card + DMR on turn 1, 2 and 3 hoping to get portals during his rage. On turn 5 I was left with Dimizar 1HP and Amidaraxar 4HP. And [card]Illusory reflection[/card] is just cancelled by [card]Frozen spirit[/card]. Am I really so unlucky that I can't beat him (ok I've done it 4 or 5 times using favors like crazy) or is there sth wrong with my strategy?
Hors ligne
Having this random drop is so F****** annoying. I've prolly beat Hrimnir more than 10 times already and still havent gotten him. The boss is already very hard to beat without the proper cards and the staff were STUPID enough to make it a random drop and with a time limit.

Arbalest, you sholdn't be afraid to discard at all.
You want his attack to rise faster than his defense, AND you want to get to your DMR and DP combo asap.
Simple logic:
Q: Does he have rage?
A: Yes
'-> Q: Does he have DMR?
'-> A: Yes.
'-> Clay Double/Perversion + DP
'-> A: No.
'-> DMR + DP
A: No
'-> Q: Does he have DMR?
'-> A: Yes.
'-> Q: Is it your Turn?
'-> A: Yes.
'-> DP -> defensive card
'-> A: No.
'-> Break the second chain (DP) -> DMR
'-> A: No.
'-> Q: Is it your Turn?
'-> A: Yes.
'-> Defensive card (pref illusory reflection) + defensive card
'-> A: No.
'-> Break the second chain (DP) -> DMR
'-> Defensive card (pref illusory reflection) + defensive card
'-> (risky) DMR -> DP
