Break the second chain not working

[card]Break the second chain[/card] doesn't seem o play the spell I grab from discard pile, it's happened to me several times and the person i'm playing against did not use any card that would stop it.  It makes a copy but doesn't seem to play the card. 

My deck is Compendium.  This happened to me several times now, I've lost matches due to it, but that's ok.  I thought at first i must have missed something but it happened to me atleast 7 times now. even when opposing player doesn't play any cards it happens.

You might have missed that your character becomes a Nehantists thus if you are trying to grab a Noz limited spell, your character can no longer play it.

yep, that is probably where his mistake was.
B2C was suppose to only bring back non guilded spell for all decks but nehantists.
Anyway, compendium can still bring back noz spells if they play a compendium secret after
(since the spell brought back by bt2c will activate after compendium secret. which will allow him to play it without the guild restriction...)

Or before, after secret of compendium, you can play any spell
