I think the runic only cared about winning the battle not if the card actually fit in their decks, but in the end it really doesn't matter to me since I really don't use either guild.

Well, I wanted it for my Runic Priest, fits really well with them.

Then again one could always argue that this card is to much like [card]The Pilgrim[/card], so I don't know. If only noz had some cool dual wield weapons.
