I cannot explain what just happened

I went first , used Coranthia to playe[card] priest diadem[/card] , opponent played [card]general fray[/card] + [card]Fly off the handle[/card]

When i used Coranthia 's ability to equip[card] priest diadem [/card] on my Sapient , he got 1 cor rune and[card] priest diadem[/card] just discarded itself

Known issue. The arti item is played after all other cards when you try to attach it to another character, so it can be countered by General Fray.
