Zil Jacket and lethal damage

I'm not sure if it's a bug or it works as intended. When a character who has [card]Zil Jacket[/card] attached dies, it deals the 3 direct damage points as it goes to the discard pile. That part seems right but, if the damage dealt takes an opposing character's HP to 0 or below, he won't die until the next turn. Is that how it is supposed to work?

Re : Zil Jacket and lethal damage

It's a programming error that won't get fixed for convenience sake. The death of a character is only checked so many times at certain points during a turn. If the death of a character is causing the death of another, that means the check for that turn already happened and you are S.O.L. This also occurs sometimes with cards like crystal storm because the damage happens at the end of turn after the check.

The convenience for us is that if Feerik actually made Eredan check every possible instance of death, the game would lag HORRIBLY, or make the game simply unplayable for some people.

In short: yes it's a bug, no it won't be fixed.

Cyanide, you write so nonsense...

Izayoi, without further details and eventually some screenshot, it is difficult to say if there is a bug or not.

I didn't take any screenshot both times I encountered this issue.

Both times I was using a Zil Priest deck. The first time I fought against a Zil Marauder deck. On the third turn, I faced [card]Abomination[/card] with [card]Terrifik[/card]. My opponent had [card]The Liberated Telendar[/card] with 3 HP left while tapped. I played [card]Zil Jacket[/card] + some other card. At the end of the combat both Abomination and Terrifik died. When Terrifik died, Zil Jacket went to the discard pile and dealed 3 direct damage to Telendar. He didn't died until the begining of the next turn.

The second time I don't remember how it was, but my character that was using the Zil Jacket also died and dealed the damage to an opposing character that was out of combat lowering his HP to 0 but I lost that game anyways because my character who died was my last alive one. If that character had died the moment his HP reached 0 I would have won instead.

We think we've found what's wrong. The problem is that it can be hard to take care of without breaking everything. So stay tuned ^^

Re : Zil Jacket and lethal damage

I have only seen the game check at the end of combat (after all of end of combat effects occur), never at the end of turn, and from what I've experienced myself and heard from other players, this is exactly what happens.
