there are different builds for this deck. some incorporate root and quercus awakening but others gor for more of an offensive outburst.

I throw in 2 extra roots with 3 germination, its important to lock your opponents down early before they pummel you into paste.

5 roots works more then fine. Your characters wont be killed if the opponent cannot play cards.

Its a matter of preference.

The only reason Hailwalker is even in these decks is for the Rooting of foes.
Germination is nice but with the odds aren't too good with just 3 key cards.

I just prefer the odds of 5/20 cards to get root.
