what ways do you have to defend against magic spells?
lately i seem to be losing a lot of time agaist a specific 2 cards combo(within multiple compendium decks): The phytia with her auto-equip pet + that AoE every turn with own character's spirit, so i'd like some advise to counter

Well, I know of a very particular way to counter Crystal Storm, and that's with Temple Guardians and Forced March.

against [card]crystal storm[/card], there are a few cards that can be usefull...
[card]clumsiness[/card] is a good one. [card]paranoia[/card] can also be an option too if you play marauder.
there's plenty of card that can discard other attached cards...
again spell, you can also use [card]deflexion[/card] or [card]magic shield[/card]
[card]mental prison[/card] if you use mage is a good option...

and then there are all other guilded cards so tell me what kind of deck you're playing if you want better otpions...

ice elves, when started playing seemed a cheap and effective deck, but nowdays i seem to lose all time vs either sap mages with AoE or Noz again with AoE

well...
i'm sorry to tell you that but ice elves ain't no competitive deck...
it can't beat any of the good decks:
zil dagger, eclipse, wild bud, noz, nehant corrupt.
it's the perfect deck to play in the normal room and beat up non fully optimized deck....

anyway, since you're playing a merc deck, I can't really say more that what I already saud:
deflection and magic shield are best against noz blast and sap.
some ppl prefers magicshield I play with both...
magicshield to counter big combos... and deflexion when I only got one char left... it's awesome!

Guemelite Trackers, hime, shui kan and kotori kage with the [card]transmission of knowledge[/card] and katamarus are working pretty nice and the cost is arround 100k

Yeah. Those two cards have insane synergy, not to mention if you get Kotori's order bonus plus those cards? if they didn't play any cards that answer those, they're dead.

[card]Pray to spirits[/card] is also a very good card though it suits best in a demon hunter deck. It can remove crystal storm but also wild buds, lunation, weapons/items, and nehantist cards among others. I like when I remove demon may rise on my character just before my opponent plays demonic portal lol.

It's also a great choice, i've a shadow zil and its really fun to play! just take care of cards like [card]good fortune[/card], [card]paranoia[/card] or [card]pray to spirits[/card] and you'll be fine

yea, got totally owned by a craftsman/avalonian tht would bring up the queen's spirit up to infinite, actually i think i'm dumb since only now i understood your spirit is your magic defense xD

for my anti magic arsenal i use dark stone heart since i dont like nehantic since it returns also cards that reduce spirit to zero

well i tried my mages but didn't really like, gona go a hybrid mage phisical characters of the noz, wichblades, they seem expensive but i'm hoping to sell the legendary iro i got in a pack yesterday

(and oops think i gtoa edit my avatar and signature *goes search for nice wichblades images xD*)
