Just to say, every 5th deck ISN'T a disscard deck. Fail card game for now, unbalanced and of course still nothing moving forward, ANS still out off reach for everyone wher it should be for everyone in 3 copies

Agree with your post. Discards were bad enough, they didn't need an upgrade, many people are unhappy about this (besides those silly discard players that can't think of an actual counter strategy).
I am forced to make super heavy beat down decks just cause of this new release. Of course anyone with ANS can make any deck they want and still be top ELO (did I mention most of them have Prestige too?). It seems like the richest players win instead of an actual strategy.
No when May 15th comes and Diablo 3 is released, I won't be playing this silly game anymore.

10 different decks in top 5. 15 in top 10. more than 20 in top 50. Only half of them play with ANS. No more that 1 or 2 of them has Prestige.
I'm not against complaining threads, but it's better to check the facts before making opening these subjects (in this case, that means it's great to play in high ELO before complaining about the situation in this format).

Only 50% of the decks used in the top 20 are ANS? what is the next highest percentage of a single type of deck used? Obviously there isn't a single type of deck used more then ANS in the top 20, so I think the complaint is still valid.
Hors ligne
Oh, great, I believe that 100% of the top deck use [card]clumsiness[/card].
This make a type of deck ?
ANS is only a card, with two use : counter discard, allow to discard your own deck to find the best cards to play.
How you can be sure that one or the other way is used in most of the decks in Top ELO ?

I'm sure we would all love to check these facts. Problem is we don't have access to them.
Also I am not sure if an analysis of the top 50 decks is relevant for the ELO mode. Basically you are making an analysis on a group that represents less then 1% of the ELO players which in their turn probably represent much less of the player base. (who might be interested in ELO if the variation was bigger)
I have a decent card pool and I find discard to be the easiest way to progress in ELO even though I get stuck in the 1700 zone.

Yeah, I know : I'm lying about everything. No point in discussing then ^^
And yes : analysis are based on the top. Because it's at the top that we are more gladly to find the best results when it comes to optimisation and "skill". Balancing based on mid ranks is never a good thing.

You misunderstood my intention. My point is that many players would like to see this kind of information (even if it were released with some delay) - hence the problem.
Hors ligne
I know. We already discussed the idea of releasing these information, but we found it a bit too complicated to do it : many decks have little but important changes compared to the "main" deck. If we wanted to be accurate, we would have to indicate it. That means we would have to publish more than twenty deck lists each week, with all their versions and explain why this version is better in this situation than the other. We don't have the "hands" to do so. Instead, we are ok to discuss about it, and we will release each week one of the top deck list and talk about it (like we did with Nehantist deck last week).
Hors ligne
ANS is for slower decks.
The decks without ANS are decks that focus on a win in 6 turns or less or decks that focus on specific cards or combinations. ANS in itself is a lost card as it brings no offensive benefit.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding; how can there be TEN different decks in the top FIVE? Or FIFTEEN in the top TEN?
Hors ligne
Perhaps because top players play several decks to achieve top level.

So they're counted among top players and not the actual top decks?

We count decks that have a fair amount of wins in top elo (we dont count deck that are played 3 times, and lost all games ;p).
Ergheiz, for example, plays around 5 different decks when he's at the top.

That makes sense. Not just ELO score then? Is there any way we can know/see what they are? Or do have to just ask?

Uhhh, yeah. Okay. So you're discussing one deck out of twenty and...that's it?
Better then nothing I guess.

That's just the first one. We'll come later with more of them. We just need some times to tune this new system.
Hors ligne
It doesn't states how it is played.
I'm sorry but then I prefer iZzY his videos explaining the compositions of his decks and how they are played.
Eg. an ANS deck plays different as a Cheksathet's Vision deck. You cannot explain that with mere words.
I think in modern age much more can be achieved with images.
Hors ligne
Aye, you're right. But we don't have enough hands to do it (Too much work ! Too much work !). I'll still try to find a solution to this problem.
(Maybe I should try to make a "Deck Preview Video" to show Eredan's world how I can deal tons of damage, too !)

lol It would be like
Sapphon: ". . .and if I chain this card to "insert OP card name" my warrior Lucyan will deal tons of damage"
Never lost a fair game... or played one.

well, I think a deck with 3 legendary cards is a no brainer for everyone
I really had the feeling the only purpose of discussing this deck was to
make some players hunt for the most rare and expensive cards and
boost the sales ...
dont get me wrong, its great to present more advanced deck conceptions,
but it felt a bit more like advertisment then like being an actual service
I mean when it comes down to; well, just get 3 of the most rare cards
there are ... this isnt really a hint, its describing the problem ..
greetings
Hors ligne
there is just one way i see to fix this whole problem...
FIX the elo deck for each tourny...
when you register for elo tourny you register with one deck which remains the only deck able to play in the whole week of elo... this way you can really create a scenery where one was able to measure the balance of certain decktypes
the way we currently are bound to play in elo we have lots of ppl who run 2-3 succesfull decks and swap them regulary.... to achieve 1800+ elo i would start off with my discard... swap to homchai IhaS once i reached 1600 and swap to eclipse once i m at 1700+
this way every so-called TOP player actually just gets to the peak by using a variety of decks that are usefull in certain elo areas since it simply doesnt happen anymore that a 2000 elo guy will have to fight a 1400 elo victim...
if there was only one deck each player could use you really would create a rank list that was valid to compare...
in order to help this system a bit i would also recommend that cards used in the elo tourny deck should still be unlocked for the normal deckbuilding so that you wont lock away your cards for the time of the tourny
