Elo Deck Analyze

news_tournoi_amnezy.jpg

Hi everyone,

We are launching a new column about the ELO games in which the Feerik team will describe and analyze a current outstanding deck. You will also have the opportunity to share your experience and give advice to those interested by the deck.

In tribute to our last legendary card, and to the eagerly-awaited (by some) discharge of Nehant, this week the deck in the spotlight is the Corruptor Nehantist one.

l/ Deck List

Characters:
- Nehantic Receptacle
- Amidaraxar
- Iron Mask

Other cards:
- Vital Syphon
- Desolation of the Heart
- Demon May Rise
- Demonic Portal
- Mastery
- The Hungry Void
- Overconfidence
- My name is legion
- Break the second chain
- Chalice, Nehantic blade
- Revealing the Secret

ll/ General strategies.
- If you are playing first, try to oppose Iron Mask to the character who has Revealing the Secret attached to him a the start of the game.
- Demon May Rise combined to Demonic portal is the best way to fight against aggressive decks. But don't forget that if you are the one playing first, a Clumsiness can make you lose your turn.
- It is better to play Desolation of the Heart when your are sure to finish the opposing character off. That prevents your opponent from finding a means to remove it.
- My name is legion doesn't look like it but if you play it with Amidaraxar or the Receptacle and combined with the capacity that the Nehantists have to reduce spirit (Revealing the Secret, Overconfidence), it can deal interesting damages every turn (that is to say even when the character is not in battle).
- Vital Syphon is like a Sith: they go in pairs. Chain it after a Mastery if you only have one: its your best means to deal damage and you best means to survive. Break the Second Chain will also be there to get one back if your opponent plays Clumsiness or if you cannot make the most of Desolation of the heart.

lll/ The "cons"
- Clumsiness will be you worst enemy. It enables your opponent to chuck the good corruption out at the right time. It's gonna be tough for you!
- Prestige combined with Clumsiness can make you lose very easily. Specially if it is used on one of your Syphons.
- Dazzle can be dreadful for you if it is played between Demon May Rise and Demonic Portal.

lV/ Match ups
- Advantage against aggressive decks
- Disadvantage against controller decks

V/Variation
- Nehantic Receptacle can easily be replaced by Dimizar for those who don't have it yet.

You absolutely need to run ANS in this deck otherwise you won't stand a chance against Zil Circus Discard.

Shouldn't Perversion feature in that list as well?

Like the concept, though most of the players know most the current outstanding decks or they wouldn't be playing them in elo. What about going the other direction as well? Do a column about the decks that are flying under the radar that players should try / improve apon. As a tool box deck builder myself, I'd be interested to see the other side of theorycraft deck builds.

Re : Elo Deck Analyze

When treacherous is banned nehant mages are a nice choice.

While the intention to introduce some variation to the classic gameplay is appreciated,  amidaxar should be the last choice for a nehant mage deck. Receptacle and dimizar have much better synergy in terms of order bonus then amidaxar + either on of them.
Perversion is crucial due to the high damage decks that are  present at the moment. In ELO you want to have a chance to win in every match and against marauders it is very hard if you do not get the demon may rise/ demon portal combo early, since vital syphon heals too little. So perversion is really important if you want to stay alive.

Hungry void is useless since the deck already has breaking the second chain. More then one recycle card is a bad idea, because in some games you will get them all early on and you will be handicapped.

But remember as long as treacherous is active nehant mages are a no-no in ELO. Even with ANS you will have problems since the 3 spirit will make you discard your hand completely. (if you play 2 cards)

Other then that it is a good initiative but try using the [card]card[/card] tag next time.

Re : Elo Deck Analyze

Amidaraxar is a better choise cause since he is a nehant guemelity he can use the effect of My name is legion, Diminizar cant.

Also it isnt a card list for the deck they are just suggestions i think

Re : Elo Deck Analyze

As already said, most elo players already know the top decks. As such, I'm actually not sure if these articles are a good idea, since the most they will accomplish is increase the prices of the cards in the article or sustain the prices of already expensive cards. Which will result in making the decks even harder to build. Its bad enough we have to wait a whole month these days for new card prices to settle. This is just going to feed the fire.

Is the tie bug abuse card intentionally left out?

Re : Elo Deck Analyze

Personally I think this is a great step for people to get exposed to potential ELO decks and showing the community ways to counter a particular decks.

Regardless, I think Demonic Portal + Demon May Rise is a game winner versus any aggro decks (almost automatic win). Must always pack Clumsiness or any means to counter Demon May Rise (note to self).

Re : Elo Deck Analyze

Maybe remove the demon sword chalice and replace it with  [card]Terror[/card] to give it a bit of control also terror removes permas which is great

Re : Elo Deck Analyze

You can analyze this deck, but this is not viable for ELO, specially this week, full of discards.
