EDIT: Why isn't [card]The Howls[/card] good? I keep hearing that. Seems pretty awesome...

Seems pretty good. I don't use the pack but if I did I'd def be running [card]the alpha[/card] too ,awesome caste card. Currently its running below lunation in price, undervalued imo.
As for the howls being any good, ideally a second attk of 6 if you manage to get 3 pets attached and keep all 3 char still alive, too long of a setup for too little potential payoff, at least thats the general consensus I think, but kudos to you if you can get it to work..

Ah, I misread it. I thought you got more attacks with your other beasts, so you would get +3 attacks if you had one out. Ah well.

howls: takes too long to be effective
[card]dark stone heart[/card] is also good for mages if you want. not really a fan of dances but it depends on you.

I'll prolly get it when I can afford it. And yeah, Howls take a bit, and it works funny...least I think so. I slapped it on a 15/15 Bloodsword and the second hit did no damage to someone with 6 defense. Can anyone explain that?
That being said, I think 1 Howls could work out fine. I makes your characters attack twice right off the bat. That's not terrible by a long shot, as people make decks based around double attacking with 20k+ cards like Butterfly Collar and Quickdraw.

char attack (printed or otherwise) has nothing to do with it. Its completely dependent upon itself in calculating the 2nd attack. ex 3 char alive + 3 howls = 6, 2 char + 2 howls = 4, 1 char + 1 howl = 2.
So, including a single howls will give you a 2nd attk of 4 if all your char are alive, which might be decent against soft targets but most armor will just shrug it away.

even if they are alive, they need to be beasts. wild and fenrath = check, bloodsword needs the pelt thing to make her a beast.
as you can see from above, you get another attack that does up to 6 damage, that is if no one dies on the first 3 turns and you get the cards you need on the first draw.
