Tournament of a million or others?
If tournament of a million, tournaments been buggy since its inception. Stuff like this is commonplace.
If not tournament of a million, hack attempt which caused the game to crash from the other player would be the most likely culprit. The game has checks and balances server-side that end games where hacking stats is attempted, if i remember correctly.

IRC there's a bug with Ecstasy being removed with Paranoia, the effects remains even after removed from play. By playing another Ecstasy the game went crazy.

yeah,,,actually it happened to my vital syphon too,,,when i discarded vital syphon then use break the second chain on it,,,,the damage went crazy
