Well, if he's talking about ShadowBlade and Fist Blade, I believe neither is duel wield.  So, if his question is will ShadowBlade still deal damage after he plays a Fist Blade, no.  Whatever bonuses that a weapon gives is gone once the weapon is detached.  One way to detach a weapon that doesn't have duel wield is to play another weapon without duel wield.
