Just a query on how you gain/lose ELO rating.
I've faced and won against people around my rating and gain 1-9 points.
I've faced and lost against people around my rating and lost 1-5 points.
I've faced and won against people around lower then my rating and gain 15 points.
I've faced and lost against people around lower then my rating and lost 22 points.
I mean, it just seems all over the place. Is it even based around the opponent's ELO Rating? Or is it random? Something to do with how well you do in the match, or how long it goes on?

It depends on the difference between your Elo rating and that of your opponent. But recently they added a feature that makes you gain less if you beat the same opponent several times in a short period of time.

Really? Why is that? I think it would make sense if there were ways to arrange matches, but there's not.

Ask the Spanish clans.
They managed to play between their members at times where there were very few people in Elo. Doing so they were able to get a member above 2000 Elo to get Ateb and often win the tournament. That's also why the tournament now ends on Sunday evening instead of Monday morning.

Wow, never heard of that happening. But then again, I can't read Spanish.
What's so special about [card]Ateb[/card]?

Spanish clans.
Please, don't speak of plural, only one of the clans was the one doing the cheating.

Ugh, still frustrating. I beat 3 people in a row and gain 12 total. I lose one match and I'm down 19. Seriously, wtf?

Ateb is AWESOME, use him with StoneEater and Eternal, and you get to have soooo much fun

I'm sorry, if he was really that good, we would see more of him on game, I never saw him once in elo room or level room.
He was awsome, a year ago. Today he is only good, not a Elo winning material.. the latest release are way more powerfull.

Yeah, I think I've just fought too many matches or something. I gain no more then 11 a round, IF that, and lose 15-22 when I lose a match. I play forever playing catch up but I never do. It's hella frustrating.

Yeah. Gain 1-2 now, lose 19. Love how busted it is.
EDIT: I've now actually faced people and gained NOTHING while they gained NOTHING, no matter who wins or loses. *slow claps*

UPDATE: So, just a note; after awhile it no longer becomes worth it to go into tournament play. You face the same people (with the same decks) and no matter what happens you gain nothing and lose everything. Since this is my first foray into the tourney world I'll go ahead and simply chalk this up to beginner's experience, but in reality...well, this is broken and slightly discouraging. Why would I want to play in a tourney that, upon reaching a certain level, I can just stop, not play anymore, and reap the rewards in the end? Kinda silly.
