I bet no one complains about beatdown decks such as Zil Marauders or Pirate Marauders.
Just because a discard deck wins by other means doesn't mean that they are overpowered. I really get annoyed now by the many posts about discards. With recycle-able cards and high damage decks, they are not that hard to beat (I play discard decks as well and I know their weaknesses).

once upon a time there used to be many complaints about abomb bein overpowered... when i started playing in elo for the first times in a rather serious manner it was witchblades ruling them all and everyone was complaining about them being overpowered... every now and then there will be a certain decktype dominating escpecially in a card game which didnt have that many different cards... nowadays as the range of cards and thus the range of decktypes is far greater the overpoweredness of one specific deck is not given anymore
discard had its peak... and is already over it...

Ahem... For a discard deck, a little more luck in the draw is involved. Getting 3 Treacherous' in opening hand against Kotoba warriors sucks hard. It's happened on more than one occasion. Graveyard removal generally counts Contortion out, especially since Alyce hit the scenes. Conjuration can be ignored for a measly +1 def. Blackmail and the Psychurgist screw Treacherous over for later turns. The list goes on. Discard decks screw themselves over as much as they do the other player and the variety of cards is pretty limited and can be difficult to accomplish by turn 4 (which is generally the "dead"line for winning) without immense amounts of luck and skill.
I've seen better deck flooding Zil than I have discard Zil since the new release.
