If you check both pics you'll see that it was already the opponents free round after running out of cards. Unless he kills you in that round, it's your win no matter what you do.

Yeah sometimes it seems strange..
Basically you always have a last round as long as you could draw at least one card or your hand had 5 cards at the beginning of the turn.
The other way round, you'll loose when your hand had less than 5 cards at the beginning of the turn and no cards in the deck. In this situation you lost even if you manage to put cards back into your deck.
