Question about alternate card's art

Is there any fix period regarding the release for alternate card's art or is it just random?

Until now, we have seen release of collector cards for :
- Introduction of new guilds (since Nomads)
- Big release of specific guild (except for the Kotobas)
- Special event (Death of Ishaia with first Anniversary, Anathematize for tournament of First of January, Advent Calendar 2010 and 2011)
- Release of new game-play  (Courtesan, Craftsmen, Avalonian)

Not totally random, but depends of the plans of the staff wink
