Latest Update (or nerfing cards)

I wanted to say that I'm thrilled that it has been decided to nerf cards that are clearly overpowered, and I hope that trend continues.

I disagree. Instead, releasing cards that don't gap so much from older cards and distress players so much when they come up.

They should do this as well, but the changes have to have retrospect for it to be plausible. The cards that were currently overpowered were nerfed, and the dev staff keeps an eye on elo in every amnezy tournament. If they release something entirely too powerful, they can easily change it to something more sensible. Hence curbing the power creep.

i also disagree but for another reason. i think that readjusting overpowered cards just leads to frustration as for the players whose cards got changed and then these who ask why a certain deck combo gets modified and another wont.

this tool is dangerous and should be used the least possible, only as a last way out... and here is what feerik needs to change imo... 'think' cards through... dont push out weekly releases with cards that wont blend in in a balanced way... test them before releasing them. maybe a 2 weeks cards output was already enough to make things a bit better.
as for the cards testing they could simply open a room and ask a certain percentage of the playerbase or make the feerik mods/devs test various combos. in other game in most cases there exists something like a testing server

Re : Latest Update (or nerfing cards)

i agree with the post above mine.

its good that they nerfed some op cards, although it would be in their best interest to not make this a trend.  Whether you pay or not, you still tend to spend crystals on cards out there to complete your deck, and for most, crystals are scarce enough as it is.  it will piss off your playerbase if they tend to do it often smile

it would be nice to get a test server although I think if they can limit the playerbase as much as they can, it would be a good idea since they could have an inside track fo the market and stuff..

Re : Latest Update (or nerfing cards)

I agree with snow monkey, this is an online card game and as such cards should be changed if their found to be abusable or overpowered rather then banned.  Take advanatage of the medium your in.

Now don't get me wrong, rotating bans to increase deck variety is fine with me, in fact I'd just ban whatever X number cards were used the most in ELO games last week(which means they'd be back the week after since they weren't used at all).  But cards should never in this game be so broken they require a perminent ban.

Re : Latest Update (or nerfing cards)

I would think it is a given to make new cards have parity with older cards, there would be no such thing as OP cards if that was the case. Especially if there was some formula in use to make cards.

However, if through an accident or something unforeseen, a card turns out to be clearly overpowered I see no harm in that. That includes cards I too may potentially have
