As far as I understand from reading posts from Feerik employees regarding the new market system, the max price of cards will drop if no one purchases a copy of a card within a 24 hour period. It seems like fewer copies of older cards are available (perhaps people are more interested in getting the recent release packs or people are just buying less packs in general) so that leaves periods of time when none of a certain card is sold so the price for that card goes down. So if an entire week goes buy without a card being available it will be a lot cheaper when it is available. An example of this is the card "fireball." I sold one for 44k a week or so ago and there hasn't been on one the market for awhile. Now the max price is 35k. This downward spiral in value will continue in the current system and is not limited to this card. As a result, people will get less value for their feez and result in fewer packs being sold.

Hmm... I noticed a similar situation but more of a logical flaw.
Yu Ling lvl 3 requires 2 Shadow Mater to upgrade...
Shadow Master costs roughly 13k to 15k on last check.
However, max price for Yu Ling lvl 3 is 15k right now, below 2 Shadow Masters...
As a result, none are listed and hence price keeps dropping?
Perhaps a logical check for these sort of issues with 'evolved' cards?
Hors ligne
Yes exactly. Yu Ling is a perfect example

The new nehantist guy is also an example, the sword used to evolve him from level 1 to 2 costs around 30k, but the guy himself cost 5.5k at level 2 xD

and he need 3
If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.

@OP:
Yes, less old cards are now coming into existence
BUT:
-The purpose of the new market place was to DRIVE DOWN INFLATION, and lower prices. So, this is how it was MEANT to be <3
-With the change in booster type, players now have a more defined pool of cards from which they can buy from. 12 cards from a single set. This leads to cards from a single act being in abundance, while others are somewhat neglected. You can now have a better idea of what to buy, because of this new feature as well.
-People are NOT getting less value for their Feez. They are getting digital cards who's price in game is determined by the players who play the game. When I started this game, Fireball was 7k. As time went on, it made it's way up to 40k. But this increase was due to low supply, and the sparsity as to how many are pulled.
Now that you can buy cards solely from act 1, you have a better chance of PULLING a fireball or -insert important cardname here- by buying said act. Before you had to test your luck against ALL of the cards in game.
-Crystals are like real money. Their value is determined by:
a) How many crystals exist
b) Their Relative value to prices
If you didn't notice, there are many cards now under 50k that used to be worth well over 100k. Now, anything over 50k seems to be either high demand, or exceedingly Rare. This being said, you won't only sell for less, you'll be buying for less as well.
So, you'll make less profit, but you will also spend less. This leads to an ultimately more balanced market.
The real problem in the market is sparsity of older cards, and high demand for certain individual cards.
The gain however:
Paying players now have a smaller pool of cards in each booster they buy. Each pool an act, the customer, able to buy random cards from that set pool. Versus the old boosters, where all of the cards you pulled were drawn from the pool of ALL cards.
This selective buying STILL gives paying players a large deal greater representation, and this selective buying is what makes certain cards sparse. Double edged sword.
Players, paying or non paying, now have a much LARGER pool of cards to buy on the marketplace, because prices are dropping to a reasonable price.
What non-paying player do you know can get 200k crystals in under a year of solid play? NONE.
The bottom line:
Paying players now have a way to buy SMARTER
Paying players gain crystals from sales
They can buy on the market with relative ease from sales, and even with fewer crystals, they can buy better than a non-paying player, due to the gain of their sales.
Non-Paying Players are limited to the Marketplace, but can afford a larger array of cards if they play well enough and long enough.
Non-Paying Players gain crystals only from fights/trophies
If that isn't a balanced market, then I don't know what is.
@Upgrades:
I do agree however, that the minimum price for upgrade material cards should be added into the cost of a card, so that a max level character's minimum cost cannot be lower than the original material cards. BUT Variables make it fairly difficult.
EDIT: And you have to remember, this is still a new release. Demonic Blade is an uncommon.
Why should I feel sorry for you when people bought [card]The Dagger of Sufferance[/card] for 70k, and now that inflation is gone, it's around 12k,and [card]One Hit, One Dead[/card] has dropped to 70% of it's release price?

Mercenaries and trophies are underrated.
PS: I'm insane

Thanks to those who commented on this thread, I think I now understand the market changes which happened in my year away from the game.
