Hi all,
I'm an old eredan player who started playing about a year ago. I played a lot from the spring to the summer but eventually it got boring.
I occasionally log in to see if new content is added. All I see is a growing pile of cards, with high price tags for me.
I like that the game involves enough strategy so that the 3 decks I crafted are still quite viable - certainly uncommon these days with the new cards but they work. I just beat a deck in the tournament that cost three times as much as mine to build.
However, what is the purpose of the game?
I ask with the hope of improving the game. As of now, I don't see any deep, written storyline. I see no PvE content to develop the background of the different races. I don't see any new added videos on Feerik's main site.
And frankly, there are enough CCG games out there to keep me occupied. I've moved on, but would like to come back.
Yours,
ST

New story is added each week with the weekly event.

Also there are the events it seems every month or so, some of them are pretty fun and random, letting you do stuff you'd not normally do. Same with the weekly trophies, forcing a bit a style of play you might not normally try...
I mean take this week's, this card for it isn't that great but trying to get 20 wins playing a guild card with one character, a class with the next and a race card for the last, in a row has forced me to play with my old Witchblades and try out my new unready Mechanics deck.

A: Story
That's a significant plus, why is it not incorporated into the game? It would seem like an element that adds depth and meaning beyond just killing the other cards, beating the other deck.
B: Clans
I can see that you are slowly moving towards more sociability with chat - but note that most of the other CCGs out there (at least among successful ones) have an ability to join a guild/clan/faction. Team based fights for rank and cards are an excellent way to retain players, encourage daily play, (and encourage the spending of $$$ to tip a war in your favor).
C: Development
Cards are released each week, which is fast for the industry. However, added content (chat, PvE) is much slower, and focuses on limited time only events. Adding clans and PvE would really boost the game, well above transient events and cards each week.
Overall development is a plus for you guys but I once again write simply to say there is much room for improvement.

Does Eredan have a point? I'll answer this in the simplest way I know how.
The point of Eredan, and any game for that matter, is to distract you from the real world.

so games are not part of the real world? ... interesting

OK, spoiler time :
Perhaps you know that 2 weeks ago there was an game Festival in France with the Feerik staff.
We have some news.
PvE is coming, their was alpha test and Sragh fight is one example of this. Staff speaks during the festival of a beta test with more than 1000 people involved.
We should have more information in very, very short time.
Clan in game is the next thing on the to-do list of the staff. This will arrive just after the PvE stuff.

Yes they are part of the real world, but they're a distraction. You do know what a distraction is, right? One definition is: That which amuses, entertains, or diverts; amusement; entertainment. Another is: Divides the attention, or prevents concentration.
Games are created to enjoy, to entertain you. To distract you.

You do know what a distraction is, right?
and do you know what a wiseguy is? ^^
but since you are willing to go there ...
you wrote 'to distrect from real world' ... and I am sure you know what this
implies ... and what you ment was, it distrects you from more importent things,
wich is opinionated
since games, entertainment and joy are objective part of the real world, they cant
distract you from the thing they are part of
so much for Freud I'd say ...
I am exited to hear about a possible PvE component for Eredan,
at the beginning I expected to have some sort of quest-line like the
tutorial, that guides you through the story of the acts ...

i agree with this one. you play games to relax or to entertain. that's pretty much the point.
If you feel otherwise, it might be time to look for another game, although keep your account, you may want to comeback. the artwork on this game is way better than the other similar games ive seen during my 6 month hiatus.
at times i still kick myself since i missed the saphyra release and the pack upagrade.. @_@
