How do i decide upgrades?

How do i decide a specific upgrade over another like lets say Asajiro's 4th lvl which one to choose and why?

Well it depends on what you want to do with it.  Most choose the one that buffs warriors because it's quite helpful for many decks.  However if you either know your gonna fight Noz or just happen to have some big hate for them(easy to happen) and want a bit better stats you can go with the other version.

At least for his case there isn't a reason you can't just get another and level him and have both.  (Lucian is really the only one that doesn't have this option so far to my knowledge)

The level that buffs your warriors is always better every time.  The -1 Spirit is.....  Basically nothing to them.  That's like giving Zil marauders -1 Attack.
